Abstract
As a state Islamic university in Banten, UIN SMH Banten has a tendency to increase the number of students every year, especially students who use vehicles, either by private vehicle or by public transportation. From this description the author tries to analyze how the characteristics of students, the factors that influence and the model of selecting modes of transportation for students. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of the choice of mode of transportation, to know the factors that influence students in choosing the mode of transportation to campus and the model of choosing the mode of transportation. This research was conducted using a descriptive analysis method on the characteristics of capital selection by students, chi square in the form of correlation analysis of the variables that influence the choice of capital as well as an analysis of stated preferences. The results showed that students who walked (21%) then used motorbikes (45%), cars (8%), city transportation (18%), and online transportation (8%). Gender and modal shift have a strong influence on the choice of mode used based on the level of correlation. Model analysis shows that there are 5 modes of transportation to campus, namely cost Y= 1.038+0.693x1, time Y= 0.828+0.646x2, convenience Y= 1.003+0.657x3, security Y= 1.075+0.598x4, accessibility Y= 1.068 +0.678x5.

| Additional Information: | Sebagai perguruan tinggi islam negeri dibanten, UIN SMH Banten memiliki kecenderungan peningkatan jumlah mahasiswa disetiap tahunnya, terutama mahasiswa yang menggunakan kendaraan, baik dengan kendaraan pribadi maupun angkutan umum, berkontribusi terhadap kemacetan lalu lintas pada ruas jalan di sekitar kampus. Dari uraian ini penulis mencoba menganalisis bagaimana karakteristik mahasiswa, faktor pengaruh dan model pemilihan moda transportasi bagi mahasiswa. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui karakteristik pemilihan moda transportasi, mengetahui faktor – faktor yang mempengaruhi mahasiswa dalam pemilihan moda transportasi menuju kampus serta model pemilihan moda transportasi. Studi ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif terhadap karakteristik pemilihan moda oleh mahasiswa, chi square berupa analisa korelasi variabel yang mempengaruhi pemilihan moda serta analisa stated preference. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa yang berjalan kaki (21%), kemudian yang menggunakan sepeda motor (45%), mobil (8%), angkutan kota (18%), dan transportasi online (8%). Jenis kelamin dan pergantian moda memiliki pengaruh yang kuat terhadap pemilihan moda yang digunakan berdasarkan tingkat korelasi. Analisis model diketahui bahwa terdapat 5 dalam model pemilihan moda transportasi menuju kampus yakni biaya Y= 1,038+0,693x1, waktu Y= 0,828+0,646x2, kenyamanan Y= 1,003+0,657x3, keselamatan Y= 1,075+0,598x4, aksesibilitas Y= 1,068+0,678x5. | |||||||||
