Abstract

Children aged 4-5 years have poor reading skills. One of the indicators is that the child has not been able to name letters, connect words with pictures and the child's vocabulary is still lacking. The media used by teachers in teaching reading, especially for children aged 4-5 years, still use conventional media which makes children less interested in participating in reading learning activities. The purpose of this study was to analyze and describe the conditions of reading learning media for children aged 4-5 years, the need for interactive multimedia flash cards, the stages of developing interactive multimedia flash cards, analyze and describe the feasibility, effectiveness, response of teachers and children to interactive multimedia flash cards to improve reading ability of children aged 4-5 years. This study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model. The trial phase I was carried out at the Al Gozali KB with 10 children. The trial phase II consisted of 20 people and the field trial phase consisted of 28 people at KB Al Marjan Cipanas. The results showed that the condition of learning media for children aged 4-5 years at KB Al Marjan Cipanas was still limited and conventional. The media used include markers, whiteboards, letter cards, books and LKA. The media that is urgently needed at KB Al Marjan Cipanas is media that is interesting for children, practical and can improve the reading skills of children aged 4-5 years. The results of the material expert validation assessment reached 97.5%, media experts 94.2%, the effectiveness of children's learning outcomes using the results of the analysis of the paired sample t test obtained a significant (2-tailed) value of 0.000, which means that the value is <0.05, the results of the teacher's response reached 97.91% and the child's response reached 87.69%. Based on the results of this analysis, it can be concluded that interactive multimedia flash cards are very feasible, effective, get a very good response from teachers and children and can improve the reading skills of children aged 4-5 years

Additional Information: Anak-anak usia 4-5 tahun memiliki kemampuan membaca yang masih kurang. Salah satu indikatornya adalah anak belum mampu menyebutkan nama huruf, menghubungkan kata dengan gambar serta kosa kata anak masih kurang. Media yang digunakan guru dalam pembelajaran membaca khususnya untuk anak usia 4- 5 tahun juga masih menggunakan media konvensional yang membuat anak kurang tertarik dalam mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran membaca. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan kondisi media pembelajaran membaca anak usia 4-5 tahun, kebutuhan multimedia interaktif flash card, tahapan pengembangan multimedia interaktif flash card, menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan kelayakan, efektivitas, respon guru dan anak terhadap multimedia interaktif flash card untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca anak usia 4-5 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE. Tahap uji coba I dilakukan di KB Al Gozali dengan jumlah anak 10 orang. Tahap uji coba II 20 orang dan tahap uji coba lapangan 28 orang di KB Al Marjan Cipanas. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kondisi media pembelajaran membaca anak usia 4-5 tahun di KB Al Marjan Cipanas masih terbatas dan bersifat konvensional. Media yang digunakan diantaranya spidol, papan tulis, kartu huruf, buku dan LKA. Media yang sekarang sangat dibutuhkan di KB Al Marjan Cipanas adalah media yang menarik untuk anak, praktis dan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca anak usia 4-5 tahun. Hasil penilaian validasi ahli materi mencapai 97,5%, ahli media 94,2%, efektivitas hasil belajar anak dengan menggunakan hasil analisis paired sample t test mendapatkan hasil nilai signifikan (2-tailed) sebesar 0.000 yang artinya nilai tersebut < 0,05, hasil respon guru mencapai 97,91% dan respon anak mencapai 87,69%. Berdasarkan hasil analisis tersebut maka dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa multimedia interaktif flash card ini sangat layak, efektif, mendapatkan respon yang sangat baik dari guru dan anak serta dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca anak usia 4-5 tahun.
