Abstract

ABSTRACT Pandeglang regency has adequate potential in developing commodity crops, of which one of them is beneng taro, a new commodity crop which has begun to be cultivated around the last six years. Considering that beneng taro is an agricultural commodity which has become the local potential of Pandeglang Regency and has decent prospect to be developed, the objective of this research is to analyse beneng taro farm. The method used in this research is survey, in which critical observation or investigation to obtain information towards a particular issue in a specific region or location is used. Based on the result of the research conducted towards the respondents of beneng taro farm, it can be concluded that: 1) The income earned by the respondents of beneng taro farm per hectare per growing season is Rp. 11,278,621.20, 2) The revenue of respondents of beneng taro farm per hectare per growing season is Rp25,368,400.00, 3) BEP Volume of Production 4,570.12 Kg/Ha with BEP of Land Capacity 0.18 Ha. Therefore, beneng taro farm done by the respondents in Juhut Village can be considered to be economically efficient, indicated by the value of R/C Ratio which is greater than 1, that is 1.80.
