Abstract

Abstract In these research, tool steels materials added silicon as its main composition : 0,8%wt, 2,0%wt and 3,0% wt for each samples of tool steels materials. The other alloys added to tool steel materials with constant amount of composition. For every tool steels materials did not given vanadium element as its alloys, to know the mechanical properties for each tool steels materials without vanadium alloys. As – cast tool steels alloys given quench temper treatment with use 600 oC ,640oC, 690oC.tempering temperature. The samples that have been quench temper treatment characterized with tensile and microstructure test. The results of these reserch shows that tool steels sample alloys have tensile strength of samples C>D>E>B>A. These condition equals to the morphology of martensites phase and carbide presipitates that the more rough of morphology will cause lower in mechanical properties of tool steels materials.the result of weldabilities are equals to the literatures. Key word : composition, quench temper, vanadium, tempering temperature, mechanical properties, weldabilities.
