Abstract
Annually, about 10.5 million child deaths are related to malnutrition. As many as 98% of the deaths are reported in developing countries. Indonesia has the highest prevalence of stunting (37.2%) compared to Myanmar (35%), Vietnam (23%), Malaysia (23%), Thailand (16%), and Singapore (4). Objectives: To analyze the risk factors for stunting in toddlers aged 25-59 months at Pejaten Kramatwatu Village. This research method was analytic observational with case-control. The sample in this study was divided into two groups, namely the case group of 107 and the control group of 107 children aged 25-59 months using a simple random sampling technique. The used research instrument was a microtoice and a questionnaire filled out by parents of toddlers. Results: The results showed that education variables (p = 0.000), breastfeeding (p = 0.004), birth weight (p = 0.001), maternal TB history (p = 0.000), parental income (p = 0.000) were associated with the incidence of stunting (p 0.000, 0.004, 0.001, 0.000, 0.000, 0.001). Conclusion: Parents' income was the most influential or dominant risk factor for stunting in toddlers aged 25-59 months.
