This research aimed to determine the influence of animation video as a teaching media on students' speaking ability at the eighth grade of SMP Dian Nusantara in the academic year 2022/2023. The researcher used a quantitative research method by implementing a quasi-experimental research design. This research involved two classes of the eighth grade at SMP Dian Nusantara. One class was selected as the experimental group and the other as the control group. The instrument used was an oral speaking test divided into pre-test and post-test. After collecting the data, the researcher analyzed the data using a t-test through SPSS v.26. The result's significance (2-tailed) value was 0.052. It was bigger than 0.05. Therefore Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. In other words, there is a significant influence of using animation video on students' speaking ability. Based on the results, the researcher concluded that animation video improves students' speaking ability.
