Abstract

Even though critical thinking skills are important and become a demand in 21st century learning, the critical thinking skills of junior high school students in Indonesia are still relatively low. The low critical thinking skills of students can be trained through giving problems in the form of questions or e-instruments. The purpose of this study was to analyze the level of validity of the HOTS-based twotier multiple choice e-instrument with the theme let's be prepared for disasters to train students' critical thinking skills in class VII. This research uses research and development methods or commonly called research and development using limited research and development steps according to the needs of researchers only five stages of development steps namely potential and problems, data collection, product design, product validation, product revision. The instruments used were media expert questionnaire sheets, evaluation experts and science teacher experts to measure the validity level of the e-instrument. The results showed that the validity level of the two-tier multiple choice e-instrument based on the HOTS theme let's be on alert for disasters to train students' critical thinking skills in class VII was 92.08% in the "very valid" category. Expert validation of e-instruments carried out by media experts gets an assessment percentage of 80.68% in the "valid" category, evaluation expert validation gets a rating percentage of 97.80% in the "very valid" category, and science teacher expert validation gets an assessment percentage of 97.77% with the category "very valid".

Additional Information: Meskipun kemampuan berpikir kritis penting serta menjadi sebuah tuntutan dalam pembelajaran abad 21, akan tetapi kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMP di Indonesia masih terbilang rendah. Rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dapat dilatih melalui pemberian masalah dalam bentuk soal atau e-instrumen. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu menganalisis tingkat kevalidan e-instrumen two-tier multiple choice berbasis HOTS tema ayo siaga bencana untuk melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VII. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan atau biasa disebut dengan research and development dengan menggunakan langkah-langkah penelitian dan pengembangan yang dibatasi sesuai kebutuhan peneliti hanya lima tahap langkah pengembangan yaitu potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi produk, revisi produk. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu lembar angket ahli media, ahli evaluasi dan ahli guru IPA untuk mengukur tingkat kevalidan e-instrumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kevalidan e-instrumen two-tier multiple choice berbasis HOTS tema ayo siaga bencana untuk melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VII adalah 92,08% dengan kategori “sangat valid”. Validasi ahli e-instrumen yang dilakukan oleh ahli media mendapatkan persentase penilaian sebesar 80,68% dengan kategori “valid”, validasi ahli evaluasi mendapatkan persentase penilaian sebesar 97,80% dengan kategori “sangat valid”, dan validasi ahli guru IPA mendapatkan persentase penilaian sebesar 97,77% dengan kategori “sangat valid”. Kata Kunci: E-Instrumen Two-tier Multiple Choice, HOTS, Ayo Siaga Bencana, Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis.
