Abstract

Concrete is one of the construction materials of various building structural elements. The basic ingredients of the concrete are a mixture of cement, water, fine aggregate (sand) and coarse aggregate (gravel). material waste that creates problems for the environment and life. so the researchers created the basis for this research, namely steel slag concrete as a coarse aggregate substitution material so that steel slag waste can be used properly. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of steel slag substitution as coarse aggregate on the compressive strength of concrete, and to determine the optimum proportion of steel slag concrete mixture to normal concrete. Mix design using SNI 7656: 2012 with variations of steel slag substitution as coarse aggregate used are 0%, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100% concrete aged 3 days, 7 days and 28 days. Steel slag concrete aged 3 days, 7 days and 28 days. 3 days, 7 days for variations of 20%, 40%, and 60% have an increase from normal concrete. As for variations of 80%, and 100% tends to decrease from normal concrete. Likewise steel slag concrete aged 28 days for variations of 20%, 40%, and 60% has an increase from normal concrete of 1.54%, 3.00%, and 6.57% while for concrete variations of 80% and 100% tends to decrease from normal concrete by 7.93% and 18.80%. The proportion of optimum compressive strength of the concrete mixture is found in steel slag concrete with 60% coarse aggregate substitution. Additional Information: Beton merupakan salah satu material kontruksi dari berbagai macam elemen struktur bangunan.Bahan dasar beton tersebut yaitu campuran dari semen, air, agregat halus(pasir) dan agregat kasar(krikil) sehingga pada jaman sekarang banyak peneliti yang mengembangkan tentang bahan material beton di karenakan banyaknya limbah material yang mebuat masalah bagi lingkungan dan kehidupan. sehingga peneliti menciptakan landasan untuk penelitian ini yaitu beton steel slag sebagai bahan subtitusi agregat kasar agar limbah steel slag bisa bermanfaan dengan baik. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh subtitusi steel slag sebagai agregat kasar terhadap kuat tekan beton, serta mengetahui proporsi optimum campuran beton steel slag terhadap beton normal. Mix design menggunakan SNI 7656:2012 dengan variasi subtitusi steel slag sebagai agregat kasar yang digunakan adalah 0%, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% dan 100% umur beton 3 hari, 7 hari dan 28 hari.Beton steel slag umur 3 hari, 7 hari untuk variasi 20%, 40%, dan 60% memiliki kenaikan dari beton normal. Sedangkan untuk variasi 80%, dan 100% cenderung menurun dari beton normal. Begitu pula beton steel slag umur 28 hari untuk variasi 20%, 40%, dan 60% memiliki kenaikan dari beton normal sebesar 1,54%, 3,00%, dan 6,57% sedangkan untuk beton variasi 80%, dan 100% cenderung menurun dari beton normal sebesar 7,93%, dan 18,80%. Proporsi kuat tekan optimum campuran beton terdapat pada beton steel slag subtitusi agregat kasar 60%. Kata Kunci : beton, kuat tekan, beton steel slag
