Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of human resource development on employee performance through work motivation. This study uses a descriptive quantitative method with a causal approach. The object of this research at the Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning Serang Regency using a sample of 140 respondents. Questionnaire answers were measured using an interval scale of 1 – 10. Data were analyzed using the SmartPLS version 3.29 software. The results of this study stated that: 1). Human resource development has an effect on employee performance. 2). Competence affects employee performance. 3). Human resource development has an effect on work motivation. 4). Human resource development has an effect on work motivation. 5). Work motivation has an effect on employee performance. Work motivation is able to mediate between human resource development and competence in partial mediation.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji dan menganalisis pengaruh pengembangan sumber daya manusia dan kompetensi terhadap kinerja pegawai melalui motivasi kerja. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan kausalitas. Objek penelitian ini pada Dinas Pekerjaan Umum dan Penataan Ruang Kabupaten Serang menggunakan sampel 140 responden. Jawaban kuesioner diukur menggunakan skala interval 1 – 10. Data dianalisis menggunakan bantuan software SmartPLS Versi 3.29. Hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa: 1). Pengembangan sumber daya manusia berpengaruh terhadap kinerja pegawai. 2). Kompetensi berpengaruh terhadap kinerja pegawai. 3). Pengembangan sumber daya manusia berpengaruh terhadap motivasi kerja. 4). Pengembangan sumber daya manusia berpengaruh terhadap motivasi kerja. 5). Motivasi kerja berpengaruh terhadap kinerja pegawai. Motivasi kerja mampu memediasi antara pengembangan sumber daya manusia dan kompetensi secara mediasi parsial.
