Abstract

Based on the objectives of the mathematics subject, problem solving ability is one of the important points in mathematics that must be mastered by students, but during the Covid-19 pandemic, Pandeglang 3 Vocational School implemented online learning in accordance with a circular letter issued by the government namely learning from home, By Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the mathematical problem solving abilities of Pandeglang 3 Vocational High School students in online learning during a pandemic. This research uses the type of descriptive qualitative research. The subjects in this study were students of class XI TKJ 1 SMKN 3 Pandeglang. Taking subjects using simple random sampling from the test scores of math problem solving abilities as many as 3 subjects, namely subjects with high problem solving ability categories, medium and low. Data collection techniques using tests, questionnaires, and interviews. The results showed that students in the high category were able to solve problems, while students in the moderate category were quite capable, and students in the low category were less able to solve problems according to Polya's problem solving stages. Based on the results of questionnaires and interviews, it showed that students' responses were less positive about online learning. Students do not like learning mathematics online because of difficulties in understanding learning material, so that when given a problem students cannot solve it properly. Therefore, the number of students with low mathematical problem-solving abilities was greater, even though the difficulty level of the test instrument was in the medium and easy category.

Additional Information: Berdasarkan tujuan mata pelajaran matematika, kemampuan pemecahan masalah menjadi salah satu poin penting dalam matematika yang harus dikuasai oleh peserta didik, namun selama masa pandemi Covid-19, SMKN 3 Pandeglang menerapkan pembelajaran daring sesuai dengan surat edaran yang dikeluarkan pemerintah yaitu belajar dari rumah, Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa SMKN 3 Pandeglang pada pembelajaran dalam jaringan (daring) di masa pandemi. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis Penelitian Kualitatif Deskriptif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas XI TKJ 1 SMKN 3 Pandeglang. Pengambilan subjek menggunakan simple random sampling dari nilai tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika sebanyak 3 subjek yaitu subjek dengan kategori kemampuan pemecahan masalah tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, angket, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan siswa kategori tinggi sudah mampu menyelesaikan masalah, sedangkan untuk siswa kategori sedang cukup mampu, dan siswa kategori rendah kurang mampu dalam menyelesaikan masalah sesuai tahapan-tahapan pemecahan masalah Polya. Berdasarkan hasil angket dan wawancara menunjukkan respon siswa kurang positif terhadap pembelajaran daring. Siswa tidak menyukai belajar matematika secara daring karena kesulitan dalam memahami materi pembelajaran, sehingga ketika diberikan suatu permasalahan siswa tidak dapat menyelesaikannya dengan baik. Oleh sebab itu, siswa dengan kategori kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis rendah berjumlah lebih banyak walaupun tingkat kesukaran instrumen soal berada pada kategori sedang dan mudah.
