Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of using the Show and Tell model and the Time and Token model in teaching speaking skills in class VII students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al-Bustaniyah Cilegon in the 2022-2023 academic year. The research method is an experimental method with a quantitative research type. The research data uses primary data, namely the results of students' speaking skills and secondary data in the form of field notes during the research. The population and sample in this study were all students of class VII Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al-Bustaniyah Cilegon. The samples were obtained using saturated sampling technique with a total sample of 49 subjects. The data collection technique in this study used a test technique in the form of an oral test, namely a speaking test with an initial test (pretest) and a final test (posttest). Based on the hypothesis that has been formulated, the data analysis technique uses the f-test formula. The results of this study indicate that (1) the results of the Fcount test = 1.103 with a significance/probability level of 0.305 > 0.05, the regression model can predict the Posttest variable in the control class. A positive constant value of 77.100 indicates a positive influence of the independent variable (Control Class Pretest). The regression coefficient X has increased by 0.047 or 0.47%. (2) The results of the Fcount test = 0.100 with a significance/probability level of 0.755 > 0.05, so the regression model can predict the Posttest variables of the experimental class. A positive constant value of 75.946 indicates a positive influence of the independent variable (Experimental Class Pretest). The regression coefficient X has increased by 0.013 or 0.13%. (3) The results of the independent Sample t Test obtained an average or mean value in the control class posttest of 78.0870 and 75.5200 in the experimental posttest class. This value can be interpreted that the average control class is higher when compared to the experimental class average. It can be concluded from the findings that the two learning models, namely the show and tell model and the time token, have an influence on the speaking skills of class VII students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al Bustaniyah Cilegon, and that there are differences in the results of students' speaking skills using the Show and Tell model which are higher and more effective than the Time model. and Tokens. The final conclusion is that there are differences in the learning outcomes of class VII students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al Bustaniyah Cilegon by using the show and tell model and the time token learning model, both of which have an influence and are significant, so that there are changes in student learning outcomes in speaking skills, but when compared to the two it will better use show and tell model skills.

Metode penelitian adalah metode eksperimen dengan jenis penelitiaan kuantitatif, Data penelitian ini menggunakan data primer yaitu hasil keterampilan berbicara siswa dan data sekunder berupa data catatan lapangan selama penelitian berlangsung. Jumlah populasi dan sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu seluruh siswa kelas VII Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al-Bustaniyah Cilegon, sampel diperoleh dengan teknik sampling jenuh dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 49 subjek. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik tes berupa tes lisan yaitu tes berbicara dengan tes awal (pretest) dan tes akhir (posttest). Berdasarkan hipotesis yang telah dirumuskan, teknik analisis data menggunakan rumus Uji-f. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa (1) Hasil uji Fhitung = 1,103 dengan tingkat signifikasi/ Probabilititas 0,305 > 0,05, maka model regresi dapat untuk memprediksi variable Posttest kelas control. Nilai Konstanta positif sebesar 77,100 menunjukkan pengaruh positif variabel independen (Pretest Kelas Kontrol). Koefisien regresi X mengalami peningkatan sebesar 0,047 atau 0,47%. (2) Hasil uji Fhitung = 0,100 dengan tingkat signifikasi/ Probabilititas 0,755 > 0,05, maka model regresi dapat untuk memprediksi variable Posttest kelas eksperimen. Nilai Konstanta positif sebesar 75,946 menunjukkan pengaruh positif variabel independen (Pretest Kelas Eksperimen). Koefisien regresi X mengalami peningkatan sebesar 0,013 atau 0,13%. (3) Hasil uji independent Sample t Test diperoleh nilai rata-rata atau mean pada posttest kelas kontrol sebesar 78,0870 dan 75,5200 pada kelas posttest eksperimen. Nilai tersebut dapat diartikan pada rata-rata kelas kontrol lebih tinggi apabila dibandingkan dengan rata rata kelas eksperimen. Dapat disimpulkan dari hasil temuan bahwa kedua model pembelajaran yaitu model show and tell dan time token terdapat pengaruh terhadap keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas VII Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al Bustaniyah Cilegon, serta adanya perbedaan hasil keterampilan berbicara siswa menggunakan model Show and Tell lebih tinggi dan efektif dibanding model Time and Token. Simpulan akhir bahwa ada perbedaan hasil belajar siswa kelas VII Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al Bustaniyah Cilegon dengan menggunakan model show and tell dan model pembelajaran time token, keduanya memiliki pengaruh dan signifikan, sehingga terdapat perubahan hasil belajar siswa dalam keterampilan berbicara, akan tetapi bila dibandingkan dengan keduanya akan lebih baik menggunakan keterampilan model show and tell.
