Abstract

ABSTRACT An Analysis Teaching Vocabulary Through The Application of Total Physical Response Method At The First Grade Of SMPN 2 Tangerang Sari Hazhiyah Haq The objective of this research were to analyze and describe the teaching vocabulary through Total Physical Responses Method that commonly applied by first grade students of SMPN 2 Kota Tangerang especially class VII A.The researcher used qualitative method. This research was conducted at SMPN 2 Kota Tangerang in academic year of 2014/2015. The population of this research consisted of 40 students as representative sample in SMPN 2 Kota Tangerang. The researcher collected the data by using observation and questionnaires.The results of this research revealed from the percentage of questionnaire(1)Teaching English vocabulary used TPR method, from the percentage that students strongly agree 87,5% or 35 students used TPR method in English learning vocabulary. (2) Shows that easy to remember vocabulary by TPR method was 82,5% or 33 students strongly agree. (3) Most of the students strongly agree toward the interesting using TPR method in vocabulary learning 82,5%. (4)Mostof students admitted that the existence of students’understand with TPR method helped them in their English learning vocabulary was 90% or 36 students chose strongly agree. (5) The students can practice the vocabulary learning directly in English class because of using TPR method, showed 92,5% or 37 students strongly agree with that.From the data, the researcher concluded that the TPR method make the student can understand the words easily, used English well and students weren’t scared to perform the meaning of the words in the class. In this research, teacher and students solved their problems in teaching and learningprocess,students remembered and memorized the words in English easily,more practice and exercises in class.
