Abstract

PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMUNICATION STRATEGY FOR INDONESIAN ESPORT ORGANIZATIONS IN PANDEGLANG REGENCY IN POPULARIZING ESPORT THROUGH LIVE INSTAGRAM "ESPORT HOUSE". Advisor I: Uliviana Restu H, S.Sos., M.I.Kom., and Advisor II: Burhanudin, S.E., M.Si. The rapid development of esport in the millennial era has had a positive impact on esport practitioners with the existence of esport communities. This development was accompanied by the widespread outbreak of COVID-19 in Indonesia. This is a challenge for the newly established esport community, namely ESI (Esport Indonesia), to popularize esport. The management of the ESI branch in Pandeglang Regency has done one way to popularize esport, namely by using the social media Instagram. This writing uses qualitative writing methods. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observation, and documentation studies. The results of the writing show that the ESI Public Relations Communication Strategy for Pandeglang Regency in popularizing esport through live Instagram is by applying the theory of the four steps of the public relations process put forward by Cutlip, Center, and Broom including situation analysis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, as well as obstacles that occur during implementation instagram live program. The results of the writing show that at the situation analysis stage, the Public Relations of ESI Pandeglang Regency carried out Focus Group Discussion and friendship activities. Public Relations of ESI Pandeglang Regency is planning a live Instagram program in an effort to popularize esport. planning before carrying out the program including conducting program meetings, making posters, and preparing program tools. Implementation is done with communication that is informative and persuasive. The evaluations carried out were small team evaluations and joint evaluations. Barriers that occur include, time constraints and network. Keywords: Strategy, Public Relations, Esport, Instagram.

Perkembangan tersebut diiringi dengan maraknya wabah COVID-19 di Indonesia. Hal ini menjadi tantangan bagi komunitas esport yang baru didirikan yaitu ESI (Esport Indonesia), untuk memopulerkan esport. Pengurus cabang ESI di Kabupaten Pandeglang melakukan salah satu cara untuk memopulerkan esport, yakni menggunakan media sosial instagram. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan adalah wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil Penelitian menunjukan bahwa Strategi Komunikasi Humas ESI Kabupaten Pandeglang dalam memopulerkan esport melalui live instagram adalah dengan menerapkan teori empat langkah proses humas yang dikemukakan oleh Cutlip, Center, dan Broom diantaranya analisis situasi, perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi, serta hambatan yang terjadi saat pelaksanaan program live instagram. Hasil Penelitian menunjukan bahwa pada tahap analisis situasi, humas ESI Kabupaten Pandeglang melakukan kegiatan Focus Group Discussion dan silaturahmi. Humas ESI Kabupaten Pandeglang merencanakan program live instagram dalam upaya memopulerkan esport. perencanaan sebelum melakukan program tersebut diantaranya, melakukan rapat program, membuat poster, dan menyiapkan alat-alat program. Pelaksanaan dilakukan dengan komunikasi yang bersifat informatif dan persuasif. Untuk evaluasi yang dilakukan adalah evaluasi tim kecil serta evaluasi bersama. Hambatan yang terjadi diantaranya, hambatan waktu dan jaringan. Kata Kunci: Strategi, Humas, Esport, Instagram.
