Abstract

Treatment measures against the use of the VAK (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic) learning model need to be carried out to prove the difference in the effect of using the VAK (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic) model on other learning models on the interest in learning of seventh grade students of SMP Aulia on the Sang Surya theme. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental method (quasi experimental) conducted with a non-equivalent post-test-only control group design. The population in this study were all seventh grade students of SMP Aulia. Purposive sampling technique was used in taking the sample in this study, which took two classes from Class VII SMP Aulia, namely class VII A, totaling 25 students and class VII B, totaling 27 students. Sampling in this class was due to the fact that the two classes had the appropriate character, namely they had almost the same interest in learning in which is as a class where students are active and adaptable, so they were suitable to be used as control and experimental classes. The instrument used was an observation sheet on the implementation of learning and an interest in learning questionnaire. The results showed that the observation of learning activities through the VAK model in the control class got a score of 72.2% or was in the sufficient category, while in the experimental class it got a score of 83.3% or was in the good category. The result of the significance value of the Two Way ANOVA test is 0.00 or less than 0.05. Cohen's d value shows 1.70, which means that the VAK learning model has a great influence on students' learning interest. This shows that there is an effect of learning the VAK (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic) model on students' interest in learning about the sun theme at Aulia Junior High School.

Additional Information: Tindakan perlakuan terhadap penggunaan model pembelajaran VAK (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic) perlu dilakukan untuk membuktikan adanya perbedaan pengaruh penggunaan model VAK (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic) terhadap model pembelejaran lain pada minat belajar siswa kelas VII SMP Aulia pada Tema Sang Surya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen semu (quasi experiment) yang dilakukan dengan non-equivalent post test-only control group design. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Aulia. Teknik purposive sampling digunakan dalam pengambilan sample penelitian ini yang mengambil dua kelas dari Kelas VII SMP Aulia, yaitu kelas VII A yang berjumlah 25 siswa dan kelas VII B yang berjumlah 27 siswa. Pengambilan sampel pada kelas ini dikarenakan kedua kelas tersebut memiliki karakter yang sesuai yaitu memiliki karakter minat belajar yang hampir sama yang merupakan kelas dengan kondisi siswa yang aktif dan mudah beradaptasi sehingga sesuai untuk dijadikan kelas kontrol dan eksperimen. Instrument yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dan lembar angket minat belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa observasi kegiatan pembelajaran melalui model VAK di kelas kontrol mendapatkan nilai 72,2% atau masuk dalam kategori cukup, sedangkan di kelas eksperimen mendapatkan nilai 83,3% atau masuk dalam kategori baik. Hasil nilai signifikansi Uji Two Way ANOVA adalah 0,00 atau kurang dari 0,05. Nilai Cohen‟s d menunjukkan 1,70 yang artinya model pembelajaran VAK mempunyai pengaruh yang besar terhadap minat belajar peserta didik. Dengan ini menunjukkan adanya pengaruh pembelajaran model VAK (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic) terhadap minat belajar peserta didik dalam belajar materi tema sang surya di SMP Aulia.
