Abstract
The study aims to determine the correlation between student’s emotional intelligence and cognitive biology learning outcomes. The study was quantitative research with a correlational method. The study was held from April to December 2022. The population of this study was PGRI 109 Tangerang High School students for the 2022/2023 academic year. Determination of the sample in this study using purposive sampling and random sampling techniques to obtain class XII MIPA 2 with 35 students. The data collection technique in this study used multiple choice questions to measure student’s cognitive learning outcomes while a questionnaire instrument was used to measure student’s emotional intelligence, and interviews as supporting data for research results. Based on the results showed that 66% of students were included in the very high category with an average value of 83.71. Furthermore, the results of cognitive biology learning showed that 88% of students were in the very high category with an average value of 88. In addition, the results indicated student's emotional intelligence with cognitive biology learning outcomes has a strong relationship with correlation coefficient 0.701 and coefficient of determination indicating a value of 0.705, which means that student’s emotional intelligence contributes 70% in influencing cognitive biology learning outcomes.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kecerdasan emosional siswa dengan hasil belajar kognitif biologi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan April hingga Desember 2022. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa-siswi SMA PGRI 109 Tangerang tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Penentuan sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dan random sampling sehingga diperoleh kelas XII MIPA 2 dengan anggota sebanyak 35 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik tes berupa instrumen soal pilihan ganda (PG) untuk mengukur hasil belajar kognitif siswa dan non tes berupa instrumen angket untuk mengukur kecerdasan emosional siswa, serta wawancara sebagai data pendukung hasil penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil pengukuran kecerdasan emosional diperoleh bahwa 66% siswa termasuk pada kategori sangat tinggi dengan nilai rata-rata 83,71. Hasil belajar kognitif biologi menunjukkan 88% siswa berada pada kategori sangat tinggi dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 88. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan terhadap hubungan yang kuat antara kecerdasan emosional siswa dengan hasil belajar kognitif biologi dan nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,701 serta nilai koefisien determinasi menunjukkan angka 0,705 yang berarti bahwa kecerdasan emosional siswa memberikan kontribusi sebesar 70% dalam memengaruhi hasil belajar kognitif biologi. | |||||||||
