AbstractsAnAnalysisofStudents’LearningStrategiesinSpeakingEnglishatTenth gradeofSMAN15TangerangBy NindyaWindari(2223100549) Theobjectiveoftheresearchistofindoutthestrategiesthatusedbystudentsinlearningspeakingandthedifficultiesinlearningspeakingattenth gradeSMAN15Tangerang.Theresearcherconductedcasestudyinqualitativeresearchtoanalyzethestudents’learningstrategiesinlearningspeakingandthedifficultiesinlearningspeaking.ThesourceofthedatawastakenforthetenthgradeofSMAN15Tangerang.Itisoneclasswithtotalnumberis40students.Theinstrumentsoftheresearchareobservation,SILLquestionnaire(StrategyInventoryLanguageLearning)andoraltest.Thetechniquesofdataanalysisaredatareduction,verificationanddrawingconclusionbyMillesandHubermantheory. Afteranalyzingthedata,theresearcherconcludedthepercentageofmetacognitivestrategyforanswering‘always’oftheirchoiceswas31%,itshowedtheyalwaysusedthisstrategy.Thepercentageofsocialstrategyforanswering‘always’oftheirchoiceswas26%,itshowedtheyoftenusedthisstrategy.Thepercentageofaffectivestrategyforanswering‘always’oftheirchoiceswas24%,itshowedbetweensocialstrategyandaffectivestrategysomeofthestudentsdominantusebothofthesestrategybecausetheyneedcontroltheirfeelingsbuttheyalsoneedtheinteractionwithotherswhentheywantlearntEnglishespeciallyspeaking.Thepercentageofcompensationstrategyforanswering‘always’oftheirchoicewas17%,itshowedtheysometimesusethisstrategy.Thepercentageofcognitivestrategyforanswering‘alwaysoftheirchoiceswas16%,itshoweditwasalmostsamewithcompensationstrategythattheyjustsometimesusedthecognitivestrategyandthepercentageofmemorystrategyforanswering‘always’oftheirchoiceswas9%,itshowedtheyseldomusedthisstrategy.Forthespeakingdifficulties,mostofthemlackofvocabulary,mispronunciation,someofthemarenotfluentlyanddidnotknowwhatthephrasesorsentencethattheywanttotalk.Whentheydidconversationalsodidnotnoticethewordstressandintonationforgivingstatementoraskthequestionsandetc. Keywords:LearningSpeaking,Students’LearningStrategies,DifficultiesinSpeaking
