Abstract

Soil has an important role to become the basic foundation of a building and if its properties are bad it will cause problems. Peat soils have a small carrying capacity and significantly reduce when loaded. Field CBR testing surveys have been carried out using the Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) tool to obtain a CBR value of 0,858%, while according to the Revised Pavement Design Manual (2017) Number 02/M/BM/2017 that the effective CBR value of subgrade is not less than 6% , if it has not fulfilled then the soil needs to be stabilized. In this research, soil improvement tests were carried out chemically by adding industrial waste additives such as Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS) and Fly Ash because these two materials have pozzolanic properties or binders between minerals. This research was conducted to determine soil classification based on the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS) method and to determine the effect of adding a combination of GGBFS and fly ash as a soil stabilizing additive to the Unsoaked CBR value. The results of research on soil classification based on USCS showed that soil samples from Rawa Arum, Gerogol District, Cilegon City, Banten were included in OH, namely organic clay with high plasticity. The highest CBR value was obtained at 29% obtained from variations in the addition of 20% fly ash and 30% GGBFS with curing time of 7 days.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini membahas tentang perbaikan tanah rawa dengan metode stabilisasi kimiawi menggunakan limbah industri Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS) dan Fly Ash yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari bahan tambah limbah industri tersebut jika diaplikasikan pada perbaikan tanah. Tanah memiliki peranan penting untuk menjadi pondasi dasar dari suatu bangunan dan jika sifat-sifatnya buruk akan menimbulkan masalah. Tanah gambut memiliki daya dukung yang kecil dan berkurang secara signifikan saat dimuat maka dari itu perlu distabilisasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa klasifikasi berdasarkan USCS sampel tanah yang berasal dari Rawa Arum, Kecamatan Gerogol, Kota Cilegon, Banten termasuk dalam OH yaitu lempung organik dengan plastisitas tinggi. Nilai CBR tertinggi didapatkan sebesar 29% didapatkan dari pengaruh penambahan 20% fly ash dan 30% GGBFS dengan lama pemeraman selama 7 hari.
