Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the process of empowering curly red chilli farmers through the Integrated Pest Control Field School Program (SLPHT) and identifying any contraints faced by curly red chili farmers in empowerment through the Integrated Pest Control Field School Program (SLPHT). The method used is descriptive qualitative with a purposive selection of locations in Pamarayan Village, Jiput District, Pandeglang Regency, Banten. Sampling was used by the cencus method. Respondents in this study were 45 chili farmers in Pamarayan Village. The results obtained from the process and the constraints of empowering curly red chilli farmers through the SLPHT program the highest number is the attitude of agreeing percentage of 76%, while the lowest result is the attitude of disagreement of 1%, are an average yield of 81% in the agreed answers in the awareness phase, 73% in the understanding phase, 73% in the utilization phase and 76% in the habituation phase. As for the obstacles faced by farmers in empowerment through the SLPHT program, there is an average of the results of the statement of constraints of farmers through the SLPHT program with the highest number of attitudes agreeing with an average percentage of 40%, while the lowest result is a disagreement attitude of 11%, it can be concluded that there are obstacles in empowerment through the SLPHT program on the four principles of the SLPHT program are still relatively low.
