Abstract
The concept of Smart Farming by utilizing microcontrollers has been widely applied in the agricultural sector. Sensors and actuators are used to regulate plant conditions. This concept is applied by utilizing information technology in the form of WhatsApp and Telegram short message applications to provide the latest information on agricultural land to farmers. This method is considered less effective, apart from lack of features, farmers also cannot control the monitoring device. To overcome this we need an application that can provide complete information on agricultural conditions continuously, and can be used to control monitoring devices even remotely. Applications are made based on web-views using PHP, Java, and MongoDB. The method used is the SDLC method. Application testing is done by testing every available feature to ensure it runs according to its function. In addition, interviews with farmers as users of the application were also conducted to get feedback while using the application. The results of the study show that the use of smart farming applications has a good effect on agricultural activities.
