Abstract

This study aims to provide an overview of the optimization of the Samaca (Reading Saturday) program as a means of school literacy movement at SD Negeri Pandeglang 4. The habit of reading books has not become a culture for students at Pandeglang 4 Public Elementary School. As we know, the Ministry of Education and Culture has initiated the School Literacy Movement program. (GLS) to increase students' interest in reading in Indonesia. In this study, researchers used descriptive qualitative research. The data collection techniques used were interview, observation and documentation techniques with teachers, principals and students. Then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results of the research are as follows: 1) the process of implementing literacy activities at Pandeglang 4 Public Elementary School does not only focus on reading and writing literacy, but implementing information literacy where students make observations to train critical thinking skills. 2) supporting factors in the implementation of the Samaca program, namely the carrying capacity of school principals by launching the Samaca program and the provision of quality facilities and infrastructure that can support literacy activities and the inhibiting factor for the samaca program, namely the lack of interest in reading students due to the Covid-19 pandemic. 3) The impact on the implementation of the Samaca program has an impact on 3 aspects, namely the culture of school literacy/student reading interest, students' critical thinking, and student learning achievement.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran mengenai optimalisasi program Samaca (Sabtu Membaca) sebagai sarana gerakan literasi sekolah di SD Negeri Pandeglang 4. Kebiasaan membaca buku belum menjadi budaya bagi peserta didik di SD Negeri Pandeglang 4, Seperti yang kita ketahui Kemendikbud menggerakan program Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS) untuk meningkatkan minat baca pelajar di Indonesia. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menggunakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu teknik wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi dengan narasumber guru, kepala sekolah, dan siswa. Kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan model Miles and Hubermen. Hasil penelian sebagai berikut: 1) proses pelaksanaan kegiatan literasi di SD Negeri Pandeglang 4 bukan hanya berfokus pada literasi baca tulis, akan tetapi melaksanakan literasi informasi kegiatan peserta didik melakukan pengamatan untuk melatih kemampuan berfikir kritis. 2) faktor pendukung dalam pelaksanakaan program Samaca, yaitu daya dukung kepala sekolah dengan mencanangkan program Samaca dan penyediaan sarana dan prasarana serta kualitas yang dapat mendukung kegiatan literasi serta faktor penghambat program samaca yaitu kurangnya minat baca peserta didik akibat pandemi Covid-19. 3) Dampak dalam pelaksanaan program Samaca berdampak kepada 3 aspek, yaitu budaya literasi sekolah/minat baca peserta didik, berpikir kritis peserta didik, dan prestasi belajar peserta didik.
