Abstract

ABSTRACT The Influence of Using Mind Mapping Technique toward Students’ Vocabulary Mastey at Seventh Grade of SMPN 3 Kota By Oktafiani Pratiwi 2223100163 The Influence of Using Mind Mapping Technique toward Students’ Vocabulary Mastery at Seventh Grade of SMPN 3 Kota Serang. The researcher conducted quantitative research by using true experimental design. The population of the research was the students at seventh grade of SMPN 3 KOTA Serang. The samples were 60 students by random sampling technique. The class VII H as experimental group and class of VII I as control group. The experimental group received the Mind Mappimg Technique. While the control group received the conventional method (treated without Mind Mapping Technique). Both groups were given pre-test and post-test to find out students’ vocabulary mastery before and after the treatment. The research instrument that used to collecting data was vocabulary test. The test consists of 20 test items in multiple choices. In testing the hypothesis, the researcher used t-test to know an effect of using mind mapping technique on students’ vocabulary mastery. Based on calculating t-test was t count 3.119 ˃ t or 2.002 ˃. Thus, alternative hypothesis was accepted. It means that there was significant influence of mind mapping technique on students’ vocabulary mastery. table Keywords: Teaching Vocabulary, Vocabulary, Mind Mapping.
