Abstract
One of the main elements in the construction is concrete. The basic ingredients of concrete are a mixture of cement, water, fine aggregate and coarse aggregate. The development of the times in this era of rapid globalization has resulted in the continued increase in the amount of waste whose existence can be a problem for life, one of which is the existence of steel slag waste, for this reason, one of the innovations in utilizing steel slag waste is to use it in concrete mixtures. In this study, steel slag was used as a substitute for fine aggregate in normal concrete mixes. This study aimed to determine the effect of steel slag substitution as fine aggregate on the compressive strength of concrete and to determine the optimum proportion of steel slag concrete mixture to normal concrete. The mix design uses SNI 7656:2012 with variations of steel slag substitution as fine aggregate used are 0%, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100% concrete aged 3 days, 7 days and 28 days. Steel slag concrete aged 3 days and 7 days had an increase in compressive strength compared to the control concrete. Compared to the compressive strength of the control concrete at 28 days of age, there was a decrease in the compressive strength of steel slag substituted concrete at 40% and 60% variations of 4.62% and 8.64% and an increase in compressive strength at variations of 20%, 80% and 100% of 1.85%, 0.11% and 8.80%. The optimum proportion of compressive strength of the concrete mixture is found in steel slag concrete with 20% fine aggregate substitution and the maximum proportion in steel slag concrete with 100% fine aggregate substitution.

Additional Information: | Salah satu unsur utama dalam pembangunan itu adalah beton. Bahan dasar dari beton adalah campuran dari semen, air, agregat halus dan agregat kasar. Perkembangan zaman pada era globalisasi yang pesat ini mengakibatkan terus bertambahnya jumlah limbah yang keberadaannya dapat menjadi masalah bagi kehidupan, salah satunya adalah keberadaan limbah steel slag, untuk itu salah satu inovasi dalam pemanfaatan limbah steel slag yaitu digunakan dalam campuran beton. Penelitian ini, steel slag digunakan sebagai bahan pengganti atau subtitusi pada agregat halus campuran beton normal. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh subtitusi steel slag sebagai agregat halus terhadap kuat tekan beton, serta mengetahui proporsi optimum campuran beton steel slag terhadap beton normal. Mix design menggunakan SNI 7656:2012 dengan variasi subtitusi steel slag sebagai agregat halus yang digunakan adalah 0%, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% dan 100% umur beton 3 hari, 7 hari dan 28 hari. Beton steel slag umur 3 hari dan 7 hari memiliki kenaikan kuat tekan dari kuat tekan beton kontrol. Dibandingkan dengan kuat tekan beton kontrol pada umur 28 hari terjadi penurunan kuat tekan beton subtitusi steel slag pada variasi 40% dan 60% sebesar 4,62% dan 8,64% dan terjadi kenaikan kuat tekan pada variasi 20%, 80% dan 100% sebesar 1,85%, 0,11% dan 8,80%. Proporsi kuat tekan optimum campuran beton terdapat pada beton steel slag subtitusi agregat halus 20% dan proporsi maksimum pada beton steel slag subtitusi agregat halus 100%. | |||||||||
