Abstract

Ariadi Cahyo Nugroho. 2021. “Comparison of PT. Pertamina and Royal Dutch Shell on the Performance of the Honda Scoopy PGM-FI Motorcycle". Thesis. Mechanical Engineering Education. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. This study aims to determine the results of the comparison of the quality of fuel oil produced by PT. Pertamina and Royal Dutch Shell on the performance of the Honda Scoopy PGM-FI motorcycle in terms of torque, power, and the rate of fuel consumption and exhaust gas emissions. The research method used in this study is an experimental research method. Data collection techniques used are literature study, testing and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this study is a comparison of test results to analyze the differences in fuels with the same octane rating. The results showed that Pertamax fuel produces the highest torque and power of 8.60 Nm at 6250 RPM, with a power of up to 8.6 HP at 8000 RPM. Fuel with RON 90 Shell Regular and Pertalite has the highest consumption rate, namely 0.534 Kg/Hour and 0.529 Kg/Hour. RON 92 Pertamax produces a fuel consumption rate of 0.491 kg/hour and Shell Regular has a fuel consumption rate of 0.501 kg/hour. RON 98 fuel, has a lower fuel consumption rate, namely Shell Nitro+ of 0.462 Kg/Hour and Pertamax Turbo of 0.446 Kg/Hour. Hasil gas CO₂ berada pada rentang 6,70% - 7,80%. Sedangkan kandungan gas O₂ berada pada rentang 9,33% - 10,45%. The exhaust emission test results show that CO₂ gas is in the range of 6.70% - 7.80%. While O₂ gas is in the range of 9.33% - 10.45%.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk Mengetahui hasil perbandingan kualitas bahan bakar minyak produksi PT. Pertamina dan Royal Dutch Shell terhadap performa sepeda motor honda scoopy PGM-FI dari segi Torsi, Daya, dan laju konsumsi bahan bakar serta emisi gas buang pembakarannya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian eksperimen. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah studi literatur, pengujian dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah komparasi hasil pengujian untuk dianalisis perbedaannya pada bahan bakar dengan nilai oktan yang sama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahan bakar Pertamax menghasilkan torsi dan daya paling besar yaitu 8,60 Nm pada putaran mesin 6250 RPM, dengan daya hingga 8,6 HP pada putaran mesin 8000 RPM. Bahan bakar dengan nilai RON 90 yaitu Shell Regular dan Pertalite memiliki nilai laju konsumsi yang paling besar yaitu 0,534 Kg/Jam dan 0,529 Kg/Jam. RON 92 pada bahan bakar Pertamax menghasilkan nilai laju konsumsi bahan bakar sebesar 0,491 Kg/Jam dan Shell Regular dengan berat jenis yang paling tinggi memiliki nilai laju konsumsi bahan bakar sebesar 0,501 Kg/Jam. Pada bahan bakar dengan nilai RON 98, laju konsumsi bahan bakar semakin kecil yaitu 0,462 Kg/Jam untuk bahan bakar Shell Nitro+ dan 0,446 Kg/Jam untuk bahan bakar Pertamax Turbo. Hasil gas CO₂ berada pada rentang 6,70% - 7,80%. Sedangkan kandungan gas O₂ berada pada rentang 9,33% - 10,45%. Sedangkan kandungan O₂ atau oksigen pada gas buang yang diujikan berada pada rentang 9,69% - 10,45%.
