Abstract

This development research was conducted based on the problems encountered at school: the teaching materials available are still limited, the teacher still uses the student book, student worksheets, and power point in delivering the learning material, and there are several props only for certain materials because of the current situation that requires students to learn independently, as well as the media used in delivering learning materials through the WhatsApp application, so that students tend to be more passive, lack enthusiasm, experience boredom, and have difficulty mastering learning materials, especially science materials. The delivery of material has not been packaged in an integrated theme, resulting in an ineffective learning process because not all students follow the learning well.The purpose of this study was to determine the validity of android-based mobile learning media in science learning in class VIII SMPs and MTs on the theme of eating for health. This study employs Sugiyono's Borg & Gall product development model, which the author has modified into five stages: potential and problems, data collection, product design, product design validation, and product design revision.The results showed that material validation was 84%, media validation was 84.80%, and teachers were 86.60% with suggestions for improvement in the content of the material, presentation, and benefits of learning media. The learning media developed are "very valid" to be used in learning science in class VIII SMPs and MTs on the theme of my food and my health. Additional Information: Penelitian pengembangan ini dilakukan berdasarkan permasalahan yang ditemui di sekolah bahwa bahan ajar yang tersedia masih terbatas, guru masih menggunakan buku siswa, lembar kerja siswa, power point dalam penyampaian materi pembelajarannya dan terdapat beberapa alat peraga hanya untuk materi tertentu saja sebab keadaan saat ini yang mengharuskan siswa belajar secara mandiri, serta media yang digunakan dalam penyampaian materi pembelajaran melalui aplikasi whatsapp, sehingga siswa cenderung lebih pasif, kurang semangat, alami kejenuhan dan kesulitan dalam menguasai materi pembelajaran terutama materi IPA. Penyampaian materi belum dikemas terpadu dalam suatu tema keterpaduan, sehingga menyebabkan proses pembelajaran belum efektif sebab tidak seluruh siswa mengikuti pembelajaran dengan baik. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui kevalidan media pembelajaran mobile learning berbasis android pada pembelajaran IPA di kelas VIII SMP/MTs tema makannaku kesehatanku. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan Borg & Gall diadoposi oleh Sugiyono menjadi 5 tahapan yang telah dimodifikasi oleh penulis, yaitu potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi desain produk dan revisi desain produk. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa validasi materi 84%, validasi media 84,80% dan guru 86,60% dengan saran perbaikan dalam isi materi, penyajian dan manfaat media pembelajaran. Media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan “sangat valid” digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPA dikelas VIII SMP/MTs tema makananku kesehatanku.
