Abstract
The purpose of this research was conducted namely, (1) to find out the response of teachers and students to the use of metacognitive strategy-based instruction using songs for listening skills; and (2) to find out the teacher's difficulties in implementing metacognitive strategy-based instruction using songs for listening skills. This research was conducted at SMAN 10 Tangerang and there were 4 research subjects, namely 1 English teacher and 3 grade 11 students. Data were collected using interviews. To find the results of the research objectives, the researcher conducted interviews with 1 teacher and 3 students. The results of the research show that the response of teachers and students is positive. Then the teacher added that the use of songs with instructions based on metacognitive strategies is something new, especially the use of songs which are believed to be very interesting to be used as material for learning listening. Apart from that, the responses from students were the same, students mentioned that with material such as songs for listening it made the learning atmosphere more fun and not monotonous.

Additional Information: | Tujuan penelitian ini dilakukan yaitu, (1) mengetahui respon guru dan siswa terhadap penggunaan pembelajaran berbasis strategi metakognitif menggunakan lagu untuk keterampilan menyimak; dan (2) mengetahui kesulitan guru dalam mengimplementasikan pembelajaran berbasis strategi metakognitif menggunakan lagu untuk keterampilan menyimak. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMAN 10 Tangerang dan terdapat 4 subjek penelitian yaitu 1 guru Bahasa Inggris dan 3 siswa kelas 11. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan wawancara. Untuk mengetahui hasil dari tujuan penelitian, peneliti melakukan wawancara dengan 1 guru dan 3 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa respon guru dan siswa adalah positif. Kemudian guru menambahkan bahwa penggunaan lagu dengan petunjuk berdasarkan strategi metakognitif merupakan hal yang baru, terutama penggunaan lagu yang diyakini sangat menarik untuk dijadikan bahan pembelajaran menyimak. Selain itu respon dari siswa juga sama, siswa menyebutkan bahwa dengan materi seperti lagu untuk menyimak membuat suasana belajar menjadi lebih menyenangkan dan tidak monoton. | |||||||||
