Abstract

ARYA RAMADHAN HERYADI. 2019. The Application of Rubber Seed Extract (Hevea brasiliensis) as Anesthetic on Transportation of Fish Carp (Cyprinus carpio) Transportation. Supervised by ARIS MUNANDAR and DINI SURILAYANI. Rubber seeds are one of the natural substance is good for anesthetic activity. An active substance found on a rubber seed called linamarin. Linamarin has an anesthetics nature that can affect the fish’s awaken levels by affecting the balance of cathionic the fish nerves during the process of heading to collapsed. The aimed of this study to determine the best concentration extracts of rubber seed and determine the optimal fainted time as anesthetic of carp transportation. This research was conducted from March – April 2019 at the Laboratory of Fisheries Product Processing Technology, Laboratory of Aquaculture and Hatchery of Fisheries Department, University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa and Laboratory of Analytical Centre Chemistry, Bogor Agricultural University. The fish weight on this study is about ±180 g with 4.5 L of water. This research used observation method with descriptive analysis used tables and graphs. The results showed that rubber seed extracts positively contained alcaloids, flavonoids, phenol hydroquinone, tannin, and saponins. The best concentration of rubber seeds was 530 ppm and it was 50 minute for fainting time and 4.5 minute for recovery time. A measurements of water quality after fish transport are temperature, pH, DO, and TAN it was 27.35oC, 6.85, 5.55 ppm, and 3.99 ppm. The process of fish transportation for the wet and dry system obtained optimal for 8 hours and 4 hours with a survival rate of 84% and 42%. Keywords : Cyprinus carpio, Linamarin, Fish transportation
