Abstract
ABSTRACK This study aims to determine students' difficulties in understanding the concept of the problem of applying Newton's law to rotational motion. This research was conducted using qualitative methods with interview and observation techniques. Data were analyzed using a qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that students had difficulty understanding the direction of the resultant torque and the relationship between the moment of inertia and the angular velocity. Students find it difficult to conclude the relationship between the moment of inertia and angular velocity. Students assume that the value of d contained in the problem is the diameter. Students experience other difficulties at the moment of inertia with indicators concluding with student difficulties, students assume that a large moment of inertia results in a large angular velocity on the law of conservation of momentum. In addition, students also experience difficulties in the relationship between the force and the force arm in the event of opening the door. Students assume that a large moment of force is difficult to open the door and students assume that the smaller the moment of force, the easier it is to open the door. Based on the results of this study, it is suggested that physics education should include more practical exercises and introduce concepts gradually. Teachers should also use creative and fun learning methods to help students understand these concepts better. Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesulitan siswa dalam memahami konsep persoalan aplikasi hukum Newton pada gerak rotasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik wawancara dan observasi. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami arah resultan torsi dan hubungan antara momen inersia dengan kecepatan sudut. Siswa sulit dalam menyimpulkan hubungan antara momen inersia dengan kecepatan sudut. Siswa menganggap bahwa nilai d yang terdapat pada soal adalah diameter. Siswa mengalami kesulitan lainnya pada momen inersia dengan indikator menyimpulkan dengan kesulitan siswa, siswa menganggap bahwa momen inersia yang besar mengakibatkan kecepatan sudut yang besar pada hukum kekekalan momentum. Selain itu, siswa juga mengalami kesulitan dalam hubungan gaya dengan lengan gaya dalam peristiwa membuka pintu. Siswa menganggap bahwa momen gaya yang besar, sulit untuk membuka pintu dan siswa menganggap bahwa semakin kecil momen gaya semakin mudah untuk membuka pintu. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, disarankan bahwa pendidikan fisika harus mencakup lebih banyak latihan praktikal dan memperkenalkan konsep-konsep secara bertahap. Guru juga harus menggunakan metode pembelajaran yang kreatif dan menyenangkan untuk membantu siswa memahami konsep-konsep tersebut dengan lebih baik. | ||||||||||||
