Abstract

Abstract Activities of washing clothes and others will not be separated from detergent use. In detergent there is a phosphate content contained in builders. Excess use of phosphates can be annoying ecosystem balance in water that causes eutrophication. Based on Republic of Indonesia Government Regulation No. 18 of 2001 concerning Management of Water Quality and Control of Water Pollution that is minimal Phosphate content produced from the waste of a business activity including class 2, namely as much as 0.2 mg/liter. To reduce content Phosphate in laundry waste can utilize bio-adsorbents from charcoal banana. For this reason, the purpose of this study is to determine absorption, time as well as optimum mixing of the banana stem bio-adsorbent in absorbing Phosphate content in laundry waste and determine the decrease in phosphate levels with banana stem biodasorbent in accordance with Government Regulation quality standards. The method used is adsorption by varying the mass of the adsorbent (1, 3 and 5 gram), contact time (40, 60 and 80 minutes) and stirring (150, 300and 600 rpm). There are several stages, namely the activation of the stem bioadsorbent bananas with NaOH, preparation of laundry waste samples, measurement of levels phosphate of laundry waste before adding bioadsorbent with standard solution KH2PO4 using a Uv-Vis spectrophotometer and adsorption test bioadsorbents in laundry waste. The entrapment carried out was found in contact time variations, namely at 80 minutes the concentration of adsorbed phosphate of 3 mg/L with a percentage of adsorbed waste of 9%, then on mass variation obtained mass is 5 grams with a value of phosphate concentration adsorbed at 20 mg/L percentage of 67% and variation of stirrer speed obtained at 600 rpm stirring the value of the adsorbed phosphate concentration of 25 mg/L the percentage of adsorbed waste is 80%. Additional Information: Abstrak Kegiatan mencuci pakaian dan lainnya tidak akan terlepas dari penggunaan detergen. Dalam detergen terdapat kandungan fosfat yang terdapat dalam builder. Pengguaan zat Fosfat yang berlebih dapat mengganggu keseimbangan ekosistem pada air yang menyebabkan eutrofikasi. Berdasarkan Peraturan Pemerintah Republik Indonesia No. 18 Tahun 2001 Tentang Pengelolaan KualitasAir dan Pengendalian Pencemaran Air bahwa minimal kandungan fosfat yang dihasilkan dari limbah suatu kegiatan usaha yang termasuk kelas 2 yaitu sebanyak 0,2 mg/liter. Untuk menurunkan kandungan fosfat dalam limbah laundry dapat memanfaatkan bioadsorben dari arang batang pisang. Untuk itu, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui daya serap, waktu serta pengadukan optimum bioadsorben batang pisang dalam menyerap kandungan fosfat pada limbah laundry serta mengetahui penurunan kadar fosfat dengan biodasorben batang pisang sesuai baku mutu Peraturan Pemerintah. Metode yang digunakan yaitu adsorpsi dengan memvariasikan massa adsorben (1, 3 dan 5gram), waktu kontak (40, 60 dan 80 menit) dan pengadukan (150, 300 dan 600 rpm).Terdapat beberapa tahapan yaitu aktivasi bioadsorben batang pisang dengan NaOH, preparasi sampel limbah laundry, pengukuran kadar fosfat limbah laundry sebelum ditambahkan bioadsorben dengan larutan standar KH2PO4 menggunakan spektrofotometer Uv-Vis dan Pengujian daya jerap bioadsorben pada limbah laundry. Penjerapan yang dilakukan didapatkan pada variasi waktu kontak yaitu pada waktu 80 menit konsentrasi fosfat teradsorpsi sebesar 3 mg/L dengan persentase limbah teradsorpsi 9 %, kemudian pada variasi massa didapatkan massa yaitu 5 gram dengan nilai kosentrasi fosfat teradsorpsi sebesar 20 mg/L persentase 67 % dan variasi kecepatan pengaduk didapatkan pada pengaadukan 600 rpm nilai konsentrasi fosfat teradsorpsi sebesar 25 mg/L persentase limbah teradsorpsi yaitu 80 %.
