Abstract

The objectives of this research were to find out about the implementation of Cake applications to improve students’ speaking skills and responses. This research is classified as a Classroom Action Research (CAR) research design with qualitative and quantitative measurements to find out the result. This research was conducted in class VII A SMPN 21 Kota Serang which consisted of 34 students. The instruments used for this research are observation, test and questionnaire. The researcher used two cycles where one cycle consisted of three meetings and each cycle consisting of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Before starting the cycle, the researcher conducted a pre-test first. The results of the pre-test the average score of students showed at 37.92 which is still below the KKM score. After the pre-test was carried out, the researcher began to conduct research. From the results obtained after two cycles, the results obtained from post-test 1 the average score is 70.74 and get an improvement of 32 8%. In post-test 2 obtained an average score of 87.16 and had an improvement of 16.42%.

Additional Information: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penerapan aplikasi Cake untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara dan respon siswa. Penelitian ini tergolong penelitian Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan pengukuran kualitatif dan kuantitatif untuk mengetahui hasilnya. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas VII A SMPN 21 Kota Serang yang terdiri dari 34 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, tes dan angket. Peneliti menggunakan dua siklus dimana satu siklus terdiri dari tiga kali pertemuan dan setiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Sebelum memulai siklus, peneliti melakukan pre-test terlebih dahulu. Hasil pre-test nilai rata-rata siswa menunjukkan sebesar 37.92 yang mana masih dibawah nilai KKM. Setelah pre-test dilakukan, peneliti mulai melakukan penelitian. Dari hasil yang diperoleh setelah dua siklus, hasil yang diperoleh dari postes 1 rata-rata skor adalah 70.74 dan mendapatkan peningkatan sebesar 32.8%. Pada postes 2 diperoleh skor rata-rata 87.16 dan mengalami peningkatan sebesar 16.42%.
