Abstract

Stoichiometric characteristics involve abstract concepts of fundamental laws of chemistry as well as complex calculations, so often, students have difficulty learning them. The stoichiometric learning process generally only uses models that do not accommodate the characteristics of concepts and students, resulting in low student learning outcomes. Efforts to improve student learning outcomes toward stoichiometric understanding require the application of learning models that are different from those commonly used, one of which is the flipped classroom model. This study aims to improve student learning outcomes on stoichiometric material using a flipped classroom learning model. The method used is Quasi experiment with One Group Pre-test – Post-test research design. The learning outcomes test instrument is in the form of 30 valid and reliable multiple-choice questions. The improvement in student learning outcomes was analyzed through the paired sample T-Test; a significance value of 0.000 was obtained, showing a noticeable difference. Based on the N-Gain test, it was found that the N-Gain score was 57.994% which had an interpretation that was quite effective for improving learning outcomes. Therefore, from the results of this study, it is concluded that there is an increase in student learning outcomes after the application of flipped classroom learning to Stoichiometry material. Additional Information: Karakteristik stoikiometri melibatkan konsep-konsep hukum dasar kimia yang bersifat abstrak serta perhitungan yang kompleks sehingga seringkali siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam mempelajarinya. Proses pembelajaran stoikiometri juga umumnya hanya menggunakan model pembelajaran yang kurang mengakomodir karakteristik konsep dan siswa sehingga berakibat pada rendahnya hasil belajar siswa. Upaya untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa terhadap pemahaman stoikiometri perlu adanya penerapan model pembelajaran yang berbeda dari yang biasa digunakan salah satunya model flipped classroom. Tujuan pada penelitian ini yaitu untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi stoikometri menggunakan model pembelajaran flipped classroom. Metode yang digunakan yaitu Quasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian One Group Pre-test – Post-test. Instrumen tes hasil belajar berupa 30 butir soal pilihan ganda yang valid dan reliabel. Peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dianalisis melalui uji paired sample T Test diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,000 yang menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang nyata. Berdasarkan uji N-Gain didapati hasil N-Gain score 57,994% yang memiliki tafsiran cukup efektif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar. Maka dari hasil penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar siswa setalah penerapan terhadap pembelajaran flipped classroom pada materi Stoikiometri.
