Abstract
ABSTRACT This research aimed to observe the influence of a predict-observe-explain (POE) model toward the cognitive ability of students VIII grade SMPN1 Padarincang in human respiratory system disorder subconcept. This research used quasi experiment method. The population of this research was VIII grade student of SMPN 1 Padarincang academic year 2014/2015 and the sample was 2 class consisted of VIII.A as an experiment class and VIII.F as a control class. The instrument was a multiple choice test, observation sheets, and response of questionnaires. The data analysis technique used the t test to analyses the hypothesis. The results showed that had difference between control class and experiment class. Based on the results of research which can be concluded that there was the influence of a POE model toward the cognitive ability of students VIII grade SMPN 1 Padarincang in human respiratory system disorder subconcept. | Additional Information: | ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model predict-observe- explain (POE) terhadap kemampuan kognitif siswa kelas VIII SMPN 1 Padarincang pada subkonsep kelainan sistem pernapasan manusia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII SMPN 1 Padarincang tahun ajaran 2014/2015 dan sampel yang digunakan sebanyak dua kelas yaitu kelas VIII A sebagai kelas eksperimert dan kelas VIII F sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes objektif berupa pilihan ganda, lembar observasi dan angket. Teknik analisis data dengan menggunakan uji t untuk menguji hipotesis. Hasil uji hipotesis terdapat perbedaan antara kelas kontrol dan eskperimen. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model POE terhadap kemampuan kognitif siswa kelas VIII SMPN I Padarincang pada subkonsep kelainan sistem pernapasan.
