Abstract

The objective of this research was to know whether using One Stays Rest Stray Technique improve the students’ reading comprehension after the researcher applied OSRS in teaching reading comprehension at the eleventh grade of SMA Negeri 19 Kabupaten Tangerang. This research was aimed to find out the improvement of students reading comprehension after being thought by using One Stays Rest Stray Technique. The design of this research was quantitative method and pre-experimental design. It was conducted in eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 19 Kabupaten Tangerang. The sample was XI Bahasa 1 and total numbers of the sample were 31 students as the sample of this research. The Use Of One Stays Rest Stray Technique to Improve Reading Comprehension On Narrative Text At SMAN19 Kab. Tangerang could improve according the result of the pre-test and post-test score below. The result of the research was found that there is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test. The pre-test mean score is 54,83 (very poor) and Post-Test score is 82,41 (verry good). The degree freedom significance 5% was 1,69. it was higher than the result of the significance difference of the post- test that was 1,71 > 1,69. It means that the alternative hypothesis was accepted, and null hypothesis was rejected, and the result of the research showed that using One Stays Rest Stray Technique could improving students’ reading comprehension. From those findings, it could be concluded that there was significant effect of using One Stays Rest Stray Technique to Improve Reading Comprehension on Narrative Text at SMAN19 Kabupaten Tangerang.

Desain penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dan desain pre-experimental. Penelitian dilakukan pada siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 19 Kabupaten Tangerang. Sampelnya adalah XI Bahasa 1 dan jumlah sampelnya adalah 31 siswa sebagai sampel penelitian ini. Penggunaan Teknik One Stays Rest Stray untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman Membaca Pada Narrative Text Di SMAN19 Kab. Tangerang dapat meningkat sesuai dengan hasil skor pre-test dan post-test di bawah ini. Hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara pre-test dan post-test. Nilai rata-rata pre-test adalah 54,83 (sangat buruk) dan nilai Post-Test adalah 82,41 (sangat baik). Signifikansi derajat kebebasan 5% adalah 1,69. lebih tinggi dari hasil signifikansi beda posttest yaitu 1,71 > 1,69. Ini berarti bahwa hipotesis alternatif diterima, dan hipotesis nol ditolak, dan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan menggunakan Teknik One Stays Rest Stray dapat meningkatkan pemahaman membaca siswa. Dari temuan tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan Teknik One Stays Rest Stray untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman Membaca pada Narrative Text di SMAN19 Kabupaten Tangerang.
