Abstract

The orientation of science learning that has been implemented only focuses on the application of science as a product that ultimately causes science learning to only be limited to the transfer of concepts, facts, and principles. The use of the science learning model is also only oriented toward lectures and demonstrations that ultimately leads to a lack of trained students' critical thinking skills in science learning. In training students' critical thinking skills in this study used Articulate Storyline learning media based on discovery learning. This study analyzed the validation level of Articulate Storyline learning media based on discovery learning on the theme "Does My Earth Recover?" to train the critical thinking skills of class VII students. This research includes development research using the Borg and Gall model from the Team of the Center for Educational Policy Research and Innovation that is limited to the media validation test stage. The instrument involved in this research is the expert validation test questionnaire. The data used were qualitative and quantitative data. The validation results obtained from material experts reached 88% in the "very valid" category, media experts obtained 100% results in the very valid category and experts from science teachers reached 84% in the "valid" category.

Additional Information: Orientasi pembelajaran IPA yang telah terlaksana hanya berfokus pada penerapan IPA sebagai produk yang akhirnya menyebabkan pembelajaran IPA hanya sebatas transfer konsep, fakta, dan prinsip. Penggunaan model pembelajaran IPA juga hanya berorientasi pada ceramah dan demonstrasi yang akhirnya menyebabkan kurang terlatihnya kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik dalam pembelajaran IPA. Dalam melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada penelitian ini digunakan media pembelajaran Articulate Storyline berbasis discovery learning. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis tingkat validasi media pembelajaran Articulate Storyline berbasis discovery learning tema “Pulihkah Bumiku?” untuk melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas VII. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model Borg and Gall dari Tim Pusat Penelitian kebijakan dan Inovasi Pendidikan yang dibatasi hingga tahap uji validasi media. Instrumen yang dilibatkan dalam penelitian ini adalah angket uji validasi ahli. Data yang digunakan adalah data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil validasi yang diperoleh dari ahli materi mencapai 88% berada pada kategori “sangat valid”, ahli media memperoleh hasil 100% dengan kategori sangat valid dan ahli dari guru IPA mencapai 84% dengan kategori “valid”.
