Abstract

ABSTRACK The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the use of learning methods PQ4R (preview, question, read, reflect, recite, review) accompanied talking stick to the learning outcomes of students on the concept of the human circulatory system. The method used is quasi experiment with design nonrandomized control group pretest-posttest. The population in this study were all students of class XI Science MAN Pulomerak second semester of the academic year 2014/2015. The study sample consisted of two classes of students of class XI IPA I as a control class and class XI IPA II as an experimental class. The sampling technique was done by purposive sampling. Collecting data using an objective test questions to measure cognitive abilities, questionnaires to measure affective abilities and observation sheets to measure psychomotor ability. Data were analyzed by t-test (t-test). The results showed that the experimental class student learning outcomes is higher than the control class. The average value of the cognitive abilities of students in the experimental class is 67 (fair category), the average value of affective abilities of students in the experimental class is 82 (very good category) and the average value of psychomotor ability experimental class 78 students (high category). Hypothesis test results indicate that the use of learning methods PQ4R accompanied talking stick effect on student learning Keyword: method PQ4R, talking stick, learning outcome, the human circulatory system.

Additional Information: ABSTRAK Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan metode pembelajaran PQ4R (preview, question, read, reflect, recite, review) disertai talking stick terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada konsep sistem sirkulasi manusia. Metode yang digunakan adalah quasi experiment dengan desain nonrandomized control group pretest-posttest. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA MAN Pulomerak semester genap tahun pelajaran 2014/2015. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri atas dua kelas yaitu siswa kelas XI IPA I sebagai kelas kontrol dan siswa kelas XI IPA II sebagai kelas eksperimen. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan soal tes objektif untuk mengukur kemampuan kognitif, angket untuk mengukur kemampuan afektif dan lembar observasi untuk mengukur kemampuan psikomotor. Data dianalisis dengan uji t (t-test). Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol. Nilai rata-rata kemampuan kognitif siswa pada kelas eksperimen yaitu 67 (kategori cukup), nilai rata-rata kemampuan afektif siswa pada kelas eksperimen yaitu 82 (kategori sangat baik) dan nilai rata-rata kemampuan psikomotor siswa kelas eksperimen 78 (kategori tinggi). Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan metode pembelajaran PQ4R disertai talking stick berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada konsep sistem sirkulasi manusia.
