Abstract
ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of cooperative learning method Numbered Heads Together (NHT) toward mastery of concepts and retention on student of class VII for the concept of ecosystem in SMP Islam AnNabilah. The research method used was a quasi experimental study with PretestPosttest Control Group Design. The population in this research were all students of class VII SMP Islam An-Nabilah. The sample of this research were students of VII B class as an experiment class and students of VII A class as an control class which determined by simple random sampling technique. Data were collected by instrument test in the form of multiple choice test, and t-test for analyzing the hypothesis. Based on the result of the hypothesis test at significance level α = 0.05, it can be concluded that the cooperative learning method Numbered Heads Together (NHT) effect student on mastery of concepts and retention of students of class VII on the concept of ecosystem at SMP Islam An-Nabilah. | Additional Information: | ABSTRAK Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Heads Together (NHT) terhadap penguasaan konsep dan retensi siswa kelas VII SMP Islam An-Nabilah pada konsep ekosistem. Metode penelitian yang digunakan eksperimen semu, dengan desain penelitian Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Islam An-Nabilah. Sampel penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas VII B sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas VII A sebagai kelas kontrol yang diambil dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan instrumen tes berupa pilihan ganda. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji t untuk menguji hipotesis. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis pada taraf signifikansi α = 0.05, dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Heads Together (NHT) berpengaruh terhadap penguasaan konsep dan retensi siswa kelas VII SMP Islam An-Nabilah pada konsep ekosistem.
