Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability of high school students to solve mathematical problems. So we need a learning model that can improve these abilities. The Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model is believed to be able to improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities. This research was conducted at Nurul Huda Baros Vocational School in the 2022/2023 academic year with the aim of knowing the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on students' mathematical problem solving abilities. The method used in this research is quasi-experimental with the nonequivalent pretest posttest control group design. This study involved two classes, namely class X Accounting 1 as an experimental class in which the learning model was applied Problem Based Learning (PBL) and class X Accounting 2 as a control class in which conventional learning was applied in learning. The instrument used in this study is a test instrument for mathematical problem solving abilities. The results of the study conclude that there is an influence of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on the mathematical problem solving abilities of high school students.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa SMA. Sehingga dibutuhkan model pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan tersebut. Model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) diyakini mampu meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis pada siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMK Nurul Huda Baros pada tahun ajaran 2022/2023 dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu quasi-eksperimental dengan jenis desain the nonequivalent pretest posttest control group design. Penelitian ini melibatkan dua kelas yaitu kelas X Akuntansi 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang dimana dalam pembelajarannya diterapkan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) dan kelas X Akuntansi 2 sebagai kelas kontrol yang dimana dalam pembelajarannya diterapkan model pembelajaran konvensional. Adapun instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu instrumen tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Hasil penelitian memberikan kesimpulan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa SMA.
