Abstract

Experiments on the type of cooling is necessary, because the use of cooling water should have a quality that is able to protect the parts of the radiator to prevent damage . This study aimed to quantify the effectiveness of the cooling water with some variations in the type of coolant . In this study conducted experiments on testing of some types of coolant on innova engine test equipment , and analyze the effectiveness by comparing the cooling water that is with some brands of coolant and water . From the test results , the highest value in testing the effectiveness of radiator coolant type I reached 57.6 % with a decrease in coolant temperature reaches 3,2⁰C , testing the effectiveness of the coolant radiator type II is 55.4 % , and the lowest effectiveness reached 54.4 % in the test water . Additional Information: ABSTRAK Eksperimen terhadap jenis pendingin sangat diperlukan, karena penggunaan air pendingin harus memiliki kualitas yang mampu melindungi pada bagian-bagian radiator agar tidak rusak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghitung efektifitas dari air pendingin dengan beberapa variasi jenis coolant. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan eksperimen tentang pengujian dari beberapa jenis pendingin pada alat uji mesin innova, dan menganalisa efektifitas dengan membandingkan air pendingin yaitu dengan beberapa merk coolant dan air. Dari hasil pengujian, nilai efektifitas radiator tertinggi pada pengujian coolant tipe I mencapai 57,6% dengan penurunan temperatur coolant mencapai 3,2⁰C, efektifitas radiator pada pengujian coolant tipe II yaitu 55,4%, dan efektifitas terendah mencapai 54,4% pada pengujian air.
