Abstract
The existence of oxygen is needed in various fields such as health, industry, aerospace, and energy. Oxygen is a primary need for the body because it involves the respiratory system. Although oxygen is naturally present in the air, the purity of oxygen needed for respiratory ranges from 90-96%. Oxygen concentrator is a tool that is generally used in the medical field and is intended for people with respiratory disorders. The working system of this tool is to filter oxygen from free air so that pure oxygen is obtained which can be used directly by sufferers. Pressure Swing Adsorption is one method that can be used to adsorb oxygen. In this study, adsorption simulations were performed using the Pressure Swing Adsorption method involving NaX, LiX and LiLSX adsorbents. Several variables were studied, such as the effects of pressure, temperature, and cycle time to determine the level of product purity. The results show that the LiLSX adsorbent is superior to other zeolites. Pressure has a significant effect and could reach 99% purity but is accompanied by a decrease in yield by Zeolite NaX. The effect of temperature did not change significantly. While the cycle time is sufficient to reduce operating pressure to a lower level, it still needs to be considered from an energy and economic perspective.

Additional Information: | Keberadaan oksigen sangat dibutuhkan diberbagai bidang seperti kesehatan, industri, dirgantara, dan energi. Bagi tubuh oksigen merupakan kebutuhan primer karena melibatkan sistem pernapasan. Meskipun oksigen secara alami terdapat di udara, kemurnian oksigen yang dibutuhkan bagi para penderita pernapasan berkisar antara 90-96 %. Oksigen konsentrator merupakan alat yang umumnya digunakan dibidang medis dan diperuntukkan bagi penderita gangguan pernapasan. Sistem kerja alat ini yaitu menyaring oksigen dari udara bebas sehingga diperoleh oksigen murni yang dapat digunakan secara langsung oleh para penderita. Pressure Swing Adsorption merupakan salah satu metode yang dapat digunakan untuk mengadsorsi oksigen. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan simulasi adsorpsi menggunakan metode Pressure Swing Adsorption melibatkankan adsorben NaX, LiX dan LiLSX. Beberpa avariabel di pejarai seperti pengaruh tekanan, tempertaur, dan waktu siklus guna mengethaui tingkat kemurnian produk. Hasil menunjukkan adsorben LiLSX lebih unggul dibanding zeolit lainnya. Tekanan berpengaruh signifikan hingga dapat mencapai kemurnian 99% namun dibarengi adanya penurunan hasil oleh Zeolit NaX. Pengaruh temperatur tidak mengalami perubahan yang signifikan. Sedangkan waktu siklus cukup dapat memangkas tekanan operasi menjadi lebih rendah namun tetap perlu dipertimbangakan dari segi energi serta ekonomi. | |||||||||
