Abstract

The train is a means of land transportation that is now getting a lot of attention from the public because it can carry many passengers in one trip. This means of transportation is considered to be faster to reach the destination and also free from traffic jams. One of the rail transportation infrastructure is the railroad. Train tracks that are not maintained will experience a decrease in performance quality which is physically marked by the occurrence of various damages, one of which is wear and tear. Wear is the transfer of some surface layers of material from one object surface to another. This study aims to identify the condition of the geometric characteristics of the rails such as rail type, track length, bearing material, track type, bend radius, track width, track elevation, maximum speed, and also estimate service life based on rail component wear using the AREA and PERJANA methods, which in this study the researchers took a case study of the corridor across the majors of st. Tangerang – st. Thorns. From the results of the analysis, it was found that the age of the Tangerang - Duri cross rail with the AREA equation was 38 years (assuming new rails) while the PERJANA method was taken on average 33 years (assuming new rails). The results show varying values for the various curves that exist on the Duri – Tangerang station crossing, according to the specifications of the rail road, traffic load, and the condition of the rail geometry.

Additional Information: Kereta api merupakan sarana transportasi darat yang sekarang mendapatkan banyak perhatian dari masyarakat karna dapat mengangkut banyak penumpang dalam sekali perjalanan. Sarana transportasi ini dirasa lebih cepat sampai tujuan dan juga terbebas dari kemancetan. Salah satu prasarana transportasi kereta api adalah rel kereta api. Rel kereta api yang tidak dipelihara akan mengalami penurunan kualitas kinerja yang secara fisik hal tersebut ditandai dengan terjadinya berbagai kerusakan, salah satunya keausan. Keausan adalah perpindahan sejumlah lapisan permukaan material dari suatu permukaan benda ke bagian permukaan benda lainnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kondisi karakteristik geometrik rel seperti tipe rel, panjang jalur, material bantalan, jenis jalur, radius lengkung, lebar jalur, peninggian jalur, kecepatan maksimum, dan juga memperkirakan umur layan berdasarkan keausan komponen rel dengan menggunakan metode AREA dan PERJANA, yang dalam penelitian ini peneliti mengambil studi kasus koridor lintas jurusan st. Tangerang – st. Duri. Dari hasil analisis didapatkan umur rel lintas jurusan Tangerang – Duri dengan persamaan AREA yaitu 38 tahun (asumsi rel baru) sedangkan untuk metode PERJANA diambil rata-rata yaitu 33 tahun (asumsi rel baru). Hasil menunjukkan nilai yang bervariasi untuk berbagai lengkung yang ada pada lintas stasiun Duri – Tangerang, sesuai dengan spesifikasi jalan rel, beban lintas, dan kondisi geometri jalan rel.
