Abstract

Confidence in children must grow from an early age through the provision of stimulation. Early Childhood Education is a coaching effort aimed at children from birth up to the age of six which is carried out through the provision of educational stimuli to help physical and spiritual growth and development so that children are ready to enter further education. This research is motivated by the presence of students aged 4-5 years in Tunas Muda Kindergarten who have low self-confidence in social interaction and learning while at school. The purpose of this study was to find out and obtain information about the teacher's role in building the self-confidence of children aged 4-5 years at Tunas Muda Lebaktipar Kindergarten. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. Data was taken by means of observation, interviews, documentation and field notes. Based on the results of research by researchers, it can be concluded that the teacher's role in building the confidence of children aged 4-5 years in TK Tunas Muda Lebaktipar, namely: 1. Implementation of learning in building the confidence of children aged 4-5 years in TK Tunas Muda Lebaktipar; 2. The role of the teacher in building the self-confidence of children aged 4-5 years in TK Tunas Muda Lebaktipar, namely: a). Teacher as a guide, b). Teacher as a motivator, c). Teacher as initiator, d). Teacher as facilitator; 3. The development of self-confidence for children aged 4-5 years at Tunas Muda Lebaktipar Kindergarten; 4. Obstacles experienced by teachers in building the self-confidence of children aged 4-5 years at Tunas Muda Lebaktipar Kindergarten. Keywords: teacher's role, confidence, 4-5 years old children

Additional Information:	Kepercayaan diri pada anak harus tumbuh sejak usia dini melalui pemberian rangsangan. Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini adalah suatu upaya pembinaan yang ditujukan kepada anak sejak lahir sampai dengan usia enam tahun yang dilakukan melalui pemberian rangsangan pendidikan untuk membantu pertumbuhan dan perkembangan jasmani dan rohani agar anak memiliki kesiapan dalam memasuki pendidikan lebih lanjut. Penelitian ini di latar belakangi oleh adanya peserta didik usia 4-5 tahun di TK Tunas Muda yang memiliki rasa percaya diri rendah dalam berinteraksi sosial dan pembelajaran selama disekolah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan memperoleh informasi tentang peran guru dalam membangun kepercayaan diri anak usia 4-5 tahun di TK Tunas Muda Lebaktipar. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif. Data diambil dengan cara observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan catatan lapangan. Berdasarkan hasil dari penelitian oleh peneliti, dapat disimpulkan bahwa peran guru dalam membangun kepercayaan diri anak usia 4-5 tahun di TK Tunas Muda Lebaktipar, yaitu: 1. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran dalam membangun kepercayaan diri anak usia 4-5 tahun di TK Tunas Muda Lebaktipar; 2. Peran guru dalam membangun kepercayaan diri anak usia 4-5 tahun di TK Tunas Muda Lebaktipar, yaitu: a). Guru sebagai pembimbing, , b). Guru sebagai motivator, c). Guru sebagai inisiator, d). Guru sebagai fasilitator; 3. Perkembangan kepercayaan diri anak usia 4-5 tahun di TK Tunas Muda Lebaktipar; 4. Kendala yang dialami guru dalam membangun kepercayaan diri anak usia 4-5 tahun di TK Tunas Muda Lebaktipar. Kata Kunci: peran guru, percaya diri, anak usia 4-5 tahun
