Abstract
ABSTRACT ANDRI ARIEFIN. 2014. Motivation of farmers decided farming surjan system (A case study at Teluk Terate Village, Kramatwatu Subdistricts, Serang Districts – Banten Province) under the guidance of HJ. ANDJAR ASTUTI and ALIUDIN. Farmers are the human resources that have a major role in the success of farming. This research aims to identify the social aspect, economic aspect, technical aspect and motivational conditions of farmers decide farming surjan system by using descriptive analysis method. Population in this study were farmers who do farming systems surjan in Teluk Terate Village, the number of samples is determined randomly by simple random sampling were 58 farmers. Analyzer used in this research is descriptive analysis and likert scale. Result of this study showed the social aspect of farmers, 32.8 % of farmers have a lifespan of 33-42 years, the average education level of the farmers are primary school (63,8%), as much as 27,59% of farmers have 35-45 years of experience in farming systems surjan, farmers have dependents on average 0-3 people (63,79%), the average farmer (79,31%) is quite satisfied with the role of extension services. The economic aspects of farmers, 70,89% of the farmers experienced revenue growth in the category increased. The technical aspects of farmers, 91.38 % of the farmers have a land area of 0.15 to 2 Ha surjan systems, production facilities are available category (74.58 %). Farmers surjan system Teluk Terate Village motivated in deciding farming surjan system. This can be seen on the condition that the farmer motivation 71.92 % of the farmers are motivated condition and 16.75 % of the farmers in a state of very motivated.
