Abstract
The objective of this research was to find the effectiveness of used Kahoot! for students’ vocabulary mastery at the tenth-grade students of SMAN 1 Cibarusah. The researcher used quantitative method with quasi-experimental design. To get the data, the researcher used pretest and posttest. Two classes were involved in this undergraduate thesis: the experimental and control classes. Both consisted of 39 students. In particular, the results indicated that used Kahoot! could give effective results of students’ vocabulary mastery. The effectiveness of using Kahoot! for students’ vocabulary mastery was 0.67. Because of 0.67 was between 0.5 ≤ until < 0.8, it means the classification of the effect size of Kahoot! toward students’ vocabulary mastery was in the medium-level. Kahoot! seems to be well adapted to help students learn, understand, and memorize English vocabulary. It is recommended for English teachers to use technology to teach students vocabulary mastery through Kahoot! because Kahoot! could help the teacher explain the material easily. It is suggested for the students because Kahoot! gives students’ motivation and improves vocabulary mastery quickly.
