Abstract

This study aims to determine the ethnomathematics of Jepara carvings and their implementation in junior high school geometry learning. The type of research used is qualitative with an ethnographic approach. The research subjects were Jepara carving craftsmen in Rau Jepara Village. The instruments used are observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of research on ethnomathematics in Jepara carvings, it shows that there are basic mathematical activities in the mindset of craftsmen and are applied to the process of making Jepara carvings related to measuring, calculating and designing activities, as well as geometric concepts related to angles, rectangles, squares, rhombuses, triangle and circle. The implementation of Jepara carving ethnomathematics in mathematics learning, especially geometry learning that can be applied in schools is learning materials in the form of a summary of contextual questions related to the local culture of Jepara carvings on angles and flat shapes studied in Junior High School Education (SMP). Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui etnomatematika pada ukiran Jepara dan implementasinya dalam pembelajaran geometri SMP. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Subjek penelitian adalah pengrajin ukiran Jepara di Desa Rau Jepara. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian mengenai etnomatematika pada ukiran Jepara menunjukkan bahwa terdapat aktivitas dasar matematika dalam pola pikir pengrajin dan diterapkan pada proses pembuatan ukiran Jepara yang berkaitan dengan aktivitas mengukur, menghitung dan mendesain, serta konsep geometri yang berkaitan dengan sudut, persegi panjang, persegi, belah ketupat, segitiga dan lingkaran. Implementasi etnomatematika ukiran Jepara pada pembelajaran matematika khususnya pembelajaran geometri yang dapat diterapkan di sekolah ialah bahan pembelajaran yang berupa ringkasan soal-soal kontektual yang berkaitan dengan budaya lokal ukiran Jepara pada materi sudut dan bangun datar yang dipelajari pada Pendidikan Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP).
