Abstract

This study aim was to determine the effect of the application of the discovery learning model using crossword puzzles on student learning outcomes in high school. The experimental research method using a randomized posttest control group-only research design was carried out in this study. The population in this study were students of class X IPA at SMAN 6 Serang City in the 2021-2022 academic year. The sample of this study consisted of two classes, X IPA 1 as the control class and X IPA 5 as the experimental class. The sampling technique used in this research was simple random sampling. Data collection technique by posttest performed to measure students' cognitive. The results showed that the average value in the control class was 78 (good) and the experimental class was 89 (very good). The results of the t-test has analysis (t-test) using paired samples T-test obtained the value of cognitive less than 0,05 so it can be concluded that there was an influence of discovery learning models on student learning outcomes.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning menggunakan media teka-teki silang terhadap hasil belajar siswa di SMA. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian metode eksperimen dengan menggunakan desain penelitian Randomized posttest control group only. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X IPA di SMAN 6 Kota Serang tahun ajaran 2021-2022. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas X IPA 1 sebagai kelas kontrol dan X IPA 5 sebagai kelas eksperimen. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah simple random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan posttest untuk mengukur kognitif siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa nilai rata-rata pada kelas kontrol 78 (baik) dan kelas kelas eksperimen 89 (sangat baik). Hasil analisis uji t (t-test) menggunakan Independent t-test diperoleh nilai yang lebih kecil dari 0,05 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran discovery learning terhadap hasil belajar siswa.
