Abstract

The body armor is tucked in with steel plate panels. This is because the nature of steel is hard and not easily penetrated by hitting objects. However, due to its high density, it becomes heavy and reduces the mobility of the wearer. Bulletproof panel material has the property of not being easily penetrated by bullets, meaning that this material has the properties of tough, hard, and ductile material. The use of fiberglass in bulletproof panels is still relatively new and not widely used. This material has high tensile strength and low strain. Silica has abrasive properties. Silica derived from rice husks or better known as Organo Silica is used to strengthen composite panels. The purpose of this study was to make composite panels made from woven fiberglass and organo silica for use as bulletproof panels with the NIJ-0101.06 Standard, to determine their ability to absorb water, and to determine the effect of adding the number of layers (5;7;9) of woven fiberglass on the impact price. generated. This research was experimental by making composites using the hand-layup method on a 25x25cm mold with woven fiberglass, resin, and organo silica as filler. The results of the research on composites with variation 5 are translucent, but layers 7 and 9 layers of fiberglass can withstand bullets from CZ SHADOW 2 9mm caliber firearms with a bullet speed of 380 m/s. JIS A5908-2003 standard Water Absorption value at variation 5;7;9 fiberglass layer 2.3153%; 2.1283%; 2.2057%. Impact Value experienced a significant increase in variations of 5; 7; 9 layers of fiberglass 0,2258 J/mm2; 0,3801 J/mm2; 0,4375 J/mm2

Additional Information: Pada body armor diselipkan Panel lempeng baja. Hal ini karena sifat baja yang keras dan tidak mudah tertembus oleh hantaman benda. Namun karena densitasnya tinggi, sehingga menjadi berat dan mengurangi mobilitas pemakainya. Material panel anti peluru memiliki sifat tidak mudah terpenetrasi oleh peluru, artinya material ini memiliki sifat material tangguh, keras, dan ulet. Penggunaan fiberglass pada panel anti peluru masih terbilang baru dan belum banyak digunakan. Material ini memiliki kekuatan tarik tinggi, regangan rendah. Silika memiliki sifat abrasif. Silika yang berasal dari sekam padi atau lebih dikenal dengan Organo Silika ini digunakan untuk memperkuat panel komposit. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk membuat panel komposit berbahan woven fiberglass dan organo silica untuk digunakan sebagai panel anti peluru dengan Standar NIJ-0101.06, mengetahui kemampuannya dalam penyerapan air, dan mengetahui pengaruh penambahan jumlah lapisan (5;7;9) woven fiberglass terhadap harga impak yang dihasilkan. Penelitian ini eksperimental dengan membuat komposit dengan metode hand-layup pada cetakan dengan ukuran 25x25cm dengan bahan woven fiberglass, resin dan organo silica sebagai filler. Hasil penelitian pada komposit dengan variasi 5 tembus, tetapi pada lapisan 7 dan 9 lapisan fiberglass dapat menahan peluru dari senjata api CZ SHADOW 2 Kaliber 9mm dengan kecepatan peluru 380 m/s. Nilai Water Absorption standar JIS A5908-2003 pada variasi 5;7;9 lapisan fiberglass 2,3153%; 2,1283%; 2,2057%. Harga Impak mengalami peningkatan signifikan pada variasi 5;7;9 lapisan fiberglass 0,2258 J/mm2; 0,3801 J/mm2; 0,4375 J/mm2
