Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the problem based learning model on students' critical thinking skills in class XI circulation system material at SMAN 3 Kota Serang. The method used in this study was a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group research design. The population in this study were all of the XI MIPA class with the research sample being MIPA 1 class as the experimental class and MIPA 2 as the control class which were taken by purposive sampling technique. The instruments used in this study were pretest and posttest description questions which were analyzed using the t test with a significance value of 0.00 (<0.05). The results showed that there was an effect of the problem based learning model on students' critical thinking skills in the circulation system material for class XI at SMAN 3 Serang City.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model problem based learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam materi sistem sirkulasi kelas XI di SMAN 3 Kota Serang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian nonequivalent control group. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas XI MIPA dengan sampel penelitian kelas MIPA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan MIPA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol yang diambil dengan teknik purpossive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah soal uraian pretest dan posttest yang dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji t dengan nilai signifikasi 0,00 (< 0,05). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model problem based learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam materi sistem sirkulasi kelas XI di SMAN 3 Kota Serang.
