Abstract
Banten adalah provinsi yang wilayahnya berada paling barat di Pulau Jawa, Indonesia. Memiliki 3 kota salah satunya Kota Cilegon, kota ini merupakan daerah yang sangat padat lalu lintasnya. Karena kota ini merupakan daerah transit menuju tempat wisata, kawasan industri, maupun menyebrang ke pulau Sumatra, sehingga volume kendaraan yang melintas terbilang ramai dan sering terjadi kecelakaan. Penelitian ini membahas tentang analisis dan upaya perbaikan keselamatan lalu lintas untuk siswa sekolah menengah pertama dengan menggunakan metode Chi-Square untuk mengetahui apakah sekolah tersebut sudah memenuhi standar peraturan kementrian perhubungan dalam pasal 1 peraturan jendral perhubungan darat tentang pedoman teknis pemberian prioritas keselamatan dan kenyamanan pada kawasan sekolah melalui penyediaan ZoSS. Berdasarkan hasil analisa responden tentang kedua sekolah juga tidak memiliki Halte, Trotoar, dan median jalan yang layak serta Zoss yang mana itu tidak sesuai dengan Peraturan Direktur Jendral Perhubungan Datar Nomor: SK. 3582/AJ. 403/DRJD/2018 tentang pedoman teknis pemberian prioritas keselamatan dan kenyamanan di kawasan sekolah melalui penyediaan Zona Selamat Sekolah maka dari itu kelengkapan fasilitas manajemen rekayasa lalu-lintas harus diterapkan di lingkungan sekolah yang berada dekat dengan jalan arteri. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan sekolah harus membangun halte, trotoar serta median jalan dan Zoss untuk fasilitas kelengkapan di sekitar sekolah agar siswa dirasa aman ketika sedang berada di seitar sekolah sesuai Peraturan Direktur Jendral Perhubungan.

| Additional Information: | Banten is a province whose territory is the westernmost on the island of Java, Indonesia. It has 3 cities, one of which is Cilegon, this city is a very traffic-dense area. Because this city is a transit area to tourist attractions, industrial areas, as well as across the island of Sumatra, the volume of vehicles passing is fairly busy and accidents often occur. This study discusses the analysis and efforts to improve traffic safety for junior high school students using the Chi-Square method to find out whether the school has met the standards of the Ministry of Transportation regulations in article 1 of the general rules of land transportation regarding technical guidelines for giving priority to safety and comfort in the area schools through the provision of ZoSS. Based on the results of the respondents' analysis, the two schools also do not have proper bus stops, sidewalks, and median roads as well as Zoss which is not in accordance with the Regulation of the Director General of Flat Transportation Number: SK. 3582 / AJ. 403 / DRJD / 2018 regarding technical guidelines for prioritizing safety and comfort in school areas through the provision of School Safe Zones, therefore the complete traffic engineering management facilities must be implemented in school environments that are close to arterial roads. So it can be concluded that the school must build bus stops, sidewalks and road medians and Zoss for completeness facilities around the school so that students feel safe when they are around the school according to the Director General of Transportation Regulation. | |||||||||
