Abstract

This study aims to determine the use of the YouTube application, the social emotional development of children aged 5-6 and the effect of using the YouTube application on the social emotional development of children aged 5-6 years in Kindergartens throughout Tamansari Village, Cilegon City-Banten. The method used in this research is Ex-post Facto with a quantitative approach. The population in this study were parents of children aged 5-6 years in Kindergartens in Tamansari Village, Cilegon City, Banten. The sample used in this study was purposive sampling, with a total sample of 30 of 72 parents of children aged 5-6 years in Kindergartens throughout Tamansari Village with the consideration that children aged 5-6 years; and only children who use the YouTube application for more than 120 minutes / day. Data collection techniques by distributing questionnaires. Data processing techniques used a scale to test the validity and reliability of instruments, normality and linearity tests, simple regression tests, correlation tests, and determination tests which were processed using the SPSS 22.0 for Windows program. The results of this study, in the correlation test of -0.778 which is included in the strong criteria. The result of the determination test is 0.605 or 60.5%. The result of a simple linear regression test is 0.000 <0.005, seen from the hypothesis test of 0.000 which means that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning that there is an effect of using the YouTube application on the social emotional development of children aged 5-6 years. It can be concluded that there are 30 children who use the YouTube application for more than 120 minutes/day, the social emotional development of children aged 5-6 years in Tamansari Village is low, there is a negative influence between the use of the YouTube application and the social emotional development of children aged 5-6 years.

Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Ex-post Facto dengan pendekatan kuantatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah orang tua dari anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK Se-Kelurahan Tamansari, Kota Cilegon-Banten. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Purposive Sampling, jumlah sampel 30 dari 72 orang tua dari anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK Se-Kelurahan Tamansari dengan pertimbangan yaitu anak berusia 5-6 tahun; dan hanya anak yang penggunaan aplikasi YouTube lebih dari 120 menit /hari. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan menyebarkan kuesioner. Teknik pengolahan data menggunakan skala Pengujian validitas dan reliabilitas instrumen, uji normalitas dan linieritas, uji regresi sederhana, uji korelasi, dan uji determinasi yang diolah menggunakan bantuan program SPSS 22.0 for windows. Hasil penelitian ini, dalam uji korelasi sebesar -0,778 yang termasuk pada kriteria kuat. Hasil uji determinasi yaitu sebesar 0,605 atau 60,5%. Hasil uji regresi linier sederhana sebesar 0,000<0,005 , dilihat dari uji hiptesis sebesar 0,000 yang berarti H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima artinya terdapat pengaruh penggunaan aplikasi YouTube terhadap perkembangan sosial emosional anak usia 5-6 tahun. Dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa terdapat 30 anak yang menggunakan aplikasi YouTube lebih dari 120 menit/hari, perkembangan sosial emosional anak usia 5-6 tahun di Kelurahan Tamansari rendah, terdapat pengaruh negatif antara penggunaan aplikasi YouTube dan perkembangan sosial emosional anak usia 5-6 tahun.
