Additional Information: This research aims at finding out the Influence of using Songs to Improve students Listening skill at the Eight grade. The methodology used in this study was quantitative method. The design of this study was true experimental design. The population of this research is the whole eight grade students of SMPN 17 Kota Serang, The class were put into experimental class and a control class, each class consisted of 25 students. Pre-test was given to both classes at the beginning phase. Then treatment was given only to the experimental group. To find the effectiveness, post-test was given to both classes. The researcher used content validity and interrater reliability in order to make the instrument was valid and reliable. In testing the hypothesis, the researcher used a t-test as a formula to know the influnce of songs toward students’ listening skill on past tense at the eight grade of SMPN 17 Kota Serang . The calculation result of t-test showed that Tcount ≥ Ttable, 4.26 ≥ 2.01, it can be said that Alternative Hypothesis (Ha ) was accepted and the Null Hypothesis (H0) was rejected, it means that the use of Song was considered influence in teaching Listening skill especially on Past Tenses.
