Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis strategi bertanya yang digunakan guru bahasa Inggris dalam pembelajaran daring dan untuk mengetahui proses strategi bertanya dalam pembelajaran daring selama interaksi kelas di SMAN 1 Malingping. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi kasus. Observasi dengan Zoom meeting dan wawancara dengan audio recorder yang digunakan sebagai instrumen penelitian ini (file ini terlampir pada lampiran). Data dikumpulkan dengan mewawancarai guru bahasa Inggris dan mengamati interaksi kelas antara guru dan siswa kelas 11 di SMAN Malingping untuk mengetahui jenis strategi pertanyaan apa yang paling banyak digunakan dan untuk mengetahui proses strategi bertanya dalam interaksi kelas selama pembelajaran daring. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru menggunakan closed question, open question, probing question, recall and process question, dan leading question. Guru bahasa Inggris secara aktif menggunakan strategi bertanya dalam interaksi kelas untuk mengajukan pertanyaan dalam memeriksa pemahaman siswa tentang materi sebelumnya, untuk menarik perhatian siswa, dan untuk mendorong siswa agar berkontribusi dalam interaksi kelas. Proses strategi bertanya dalam pembelajaran daring yang digunakan oleh guru dibagi menjadi tiga sesi, di awal proses belajarmengajar, di tengah proses belajar-mengajar, dan di akhir proses belajar-mengajar.

Additional Information: This research was aimed to find out the type of questioning strategies that the English teacher used in online learning and to recognize the process for questioning strategies in online learning during the classroom interaction at SMAN 1 Malingping. This research applied the case study design. Observation by Zoom meeting and interview by an audio recorder was employed as the instrument of this study (this file attached to the appendix). The data were collected by interviewing the English teacher and observing the classroom interaction between the teacher and the 11th grade students at SMAN Malingping in order to find out what type of question strategies are used the most and to recognize the process of questioning strategies in the classroom interaction during online learning. The results of this research showed that the teacher employed closed question, open question, probing question, recall and process question, and leading question. The English teachers actively using questioning strategies in the classroom interaction that they were asked the question to check about the students understanding about the previous material, to attract the students' attention, and to encourage the students to contribute in the class interaction. The process for questioning strategies in online learning used by the teacher defines into three sessions, at the beginning of teaching-learning process, at the middle teaching-learning process, and at the end of teaching-learning process.
